Ellsbury has agreed to a seven-year, $153 million deal with the Yankees, CBS Sports reports.
Ellsbury declined a qualifying offer from the Red Sox earlier this offseason, allowing him to hit the open market and seek top dollar, which the Yankees unsurprisingly appear willing to pay. The outfielder led the majors with 52 stolen bases last season, while also hitting nearly .300 and playing 134 games. His potential signing would certainly complicate New York's ability to re-sign second baseman Robinson Cano and would seemingly end the team's interest in fellow outfielders Shin-Soo Choo and Carlos Beltran.
