Jun 19 10:29pLocke tossed seven innings of shutout ball Wednesday, but did not record the win after the Pirates blew the lead in the ninth.
ImpactLocke was locked in yet again, but Jason Grilli could not preserve the win for the impressive left-hander. He continues to baffle hitters and now sports a sparkling 2.01 ERA after Wednesday's start. Statisticians will continue to say that Locke is getting by with smoke and mirrors, and they may have a point when looking at his 4.06 xFIP and his 85.6% runners left on base rate (73.2% league average). All signs point to an eventual regression to the mean, but until that happens, his owners should continue to enjoy the ride.
