Redmond was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Friday and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Impact
Redmond spent time in Orioles camp earlier this spring contending for a rotation spot but ultimately earned his walking papers after posting a 5.63 ERA over eight Grapefruit League innings. Redmond did manage to turn in nearly a strikeout per inning at Triple-A last season while delivering solid ratios, so there is a chance he could be serviceable out of the bullpen or as a spot starter at some point for the Blue Jays.
