Peguero went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, five RBI and two runs scored against Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
While the Mariners have been revamping the infield of their major league squad, the outfield has stayed reasonably the same most of the way. Peguero would be in line for a potential call-up if he were hitting, but including Monday's big game, he's batting just .136 over his last 10 games and just .247 for the year. He has strong power potential, but is striking out nearly a third of the time he's up at bat. He'll languish in the minors until his plate discipline improves or until the Mariners get so decimated by injuries that he's needed immediately.
