Cooper (back) has been released by the Blue Jays, CBSSports.com reports.

The Jays have learned that Cooper will miss most of 2013 due to a back injury that he aggravated as a complication from jamming his neck last September. Though the injury will keep him sidelined for most - if not all - of the year, Toronto has expressed interest in re-signing him to a minor league deal.
