Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Tuesday that Lawrie "will play third base full-time in 2014," Jim Bowden of ESPN.com reports.
Gibbons said the 23-year-old "grew up a lot" this past season, and will be locked in as the team's everyday third baseman to begin 2014. While Lawrie's batting average fell by close to 20 points from 2012, he did improve on his strikeout and walk rates, and was somewhat unlucky with a .280 BABIP. He'll have some upside as a middle-tier fantasy option at the hot corner on draft day.
