Flaherty was hit by a pitch in his hand Saturday but did not suffer an injury, MASN reports. He'll be available to play Sunday.
Flaherty was pinch-hit for later in the game, and there was some speculation that he was removed due to injury, but manager Buck Showalter said Flaherty is fine and that the ball that hit Flaherty's hand also glanced the bat, taking away some of the impact. The 26-year-old second baseman has struggled at the plate all season (.131), but the Orioles have opted to continue playing him thanks to his defense. Brian Roberts underwent surgery on his right hamstring and will miss another six weeks, so Flaherty could be functionally usable for the foreseeable future.
