May 22 8:29aAnthony Rendon, the Nationals' top hitting prospect, has been shifted over to second base at Double-A, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSposrts reports.
ImpactEspinosa has already started losing playing time to Steve Lombardozzi thanks to his putrid .159/.188/.290 start to the season (not to mention a stunningly bad 3:40 BB:K ratio in 38 games), and while Nats manager Davey Johnson denied that the club has any immediate plans to remove Espinosa from the starting lineup Rendon is on fire at Double-A, and his shift to the keystone certainly looks ominous. Espinosa owners who have stuck with him this long may want to pre-emptively nab Rendon if he's available, just in case.
