Olt is just 3-for-25 over his last six games and is now batting just .115 with two RBI and two runs scored since being acquired by the Cubs near the end of July.
Olt was struggling for the Rangers too, although many of his problems stemmed from an eye condition which has since been corrected. Olt is normally known for his power potential and plate discipline, so this might just be one of those years where you have to give him a mulligan and see what develops next season. He may come up when rosters expand in September, but more importantly, he should get a chance to compete for the starting third base job in 2014.
