Goldschmidt has been announced as a finalist for a Rawlings Gold Glove Award, according to MLB.com.
For the star first baseman, it's just the icing on the cake. Following a season in which he tied for the National League lead with 36 home runs and led the league in RBI by 16, Goldschmidt won't last long on any 2014 draft boards. While a defensive honor won't earn him any more fantasy value, it's definitely a testament to the kind of work ethic the 26-year-old has displayed in his young career.
