May 22 8:19aRendon has been shifted over to second base at Double-A Harrisburg, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports reports.
ImpactWhile Nationals manager Davey Johnson insists that Danny Espinosa isn't in danger of losing his starting gig at second base despite his struggles at the plate, and that Steve Lombardozzi and even Zach Walters would be ahead of Rendon on the depth chart at second if a change were imminent, it's hard to ignore the video game numbers Rendon has posted (.390/.500/.780 in 72 plate appearances) since getting sent back down to Harrisburg. If the Nats' offense continues to misfire, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the club find a way to get Rendon in the lineup, and second base would seem to be the most likely landing spot for the rookie.
