May 18 6:22aEaton (elbow) will play roughly two weeks of games in the field before returning to the Diamondbacks, the Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactEaton is eligible to return to Arizona on May 23 but manager Kirk Gibson expects Eaton to play at least two weeks in the field between High-A Visalia and Triple-A Reno. Eaton has served as a DH for the past 13 games and started his first game in center field Friday. This puts a more realistic timetable for a return towards the end of May or first week of June. The Diamondbacks will be cautious with their young outfielder. With A.J. Pollock and Gerardo Parra playing so well, there is no need to rush Eaton back from the elbow strain that landed him on the DL at the beginning of the season.
