Wacha improved to 4-0 on the year after limiting Triple-A Sacramento to two runs on three hits with no walks and five strikeouts over six innings Friday.
Towards the end of April, Cardinals GM John Mozeliak indicated that Wacha was pretty far off from being promoted. However, through seven starts, Wacha now has a 1.99 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP over 40.2 innings this season. He's only got a 24:13 K:BB ratio which is a strong decrease from his time at lower levels so perhaps Mozeliak is looking for him to start missing a few more bats before promoting him. Wacha is definitely a talent to keep on your watch list though and could find himself up with the big club sometime during the second half.
