GM Ned Colletti indicated that he's hopeful Beckett (hip) will return from the disabled list before the end of July, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
After landing on the disabled list Tuesday, Beckett was treated with a cortisone injection to address the hip impingement syndrome he's been experiencing. Beckett will likely be limited in his activity over the next few days to allow the shot to run its course, but it might not be long before he starts throwing again. While he may not be back with the Dodgers as soon as eligible (July 22), it doesn't sound like he'll miss much further time beyond that. However, if Beckett hits a snag in his recovery along the way, don't be surprised if the spend-happy Dodgers add another starting pitcher to their stable through a trade.
