Davis (elbow) recently underwent Tommy John surgery, Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports.
In yet another instance of rest and rehabilitation failing to resolve an elbow issue, Davis' elbow did not respond to rest and the right-hander finally opted for reconstructive surgery. It's a tough blow for the 27-year-old, as he just made his major league debut last season and posted a 3.12 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 10 appearances out of the Nationals' bullpen. He'll look to make a full recovery and contribute at some point in 2015.
