Transactions involve intra-roster and inter-roster moves. Please consult your league settings for more information.
Intra-Roster Moves
Intra-roster moves include activating a player, benching a player and placing a player on the Disabled List. These moves are made by a team owner or the commissioner to the roster of a team. All intra-roster moves have a Roster Deadline determined by the league settings, either respective game or first game of the day for the period. Only the commissioner may make retroactive intra-roster moves.
Inter-Roster Moves
Inter-roster moves include adding, dropping, or trading players. These moves are made between 2 teams (trades) or between one team and the free agency pool (adds, drops). All inter-roster moves have a deadline of the first game of the day for the period.
Periods
A period is either a day or week depending on the league's Roster Changes setting (daily or weekly). It is important to remember that if a period is locked, then the inter-roster transaction will process for the next period.
Future Roster Moves
Future intra-roster moves can be made at any time, with the exception of DL moves. Future DL intra-roster moves can only be made for the current or next period. Future inter-roster moves should only be applicable for the next period, for a specified trade process date, or for the stated waiver clear date.
