HOW TO PLAY

1
CREATE BRACKET
After registering with the site, create a bracket for the game. Enter a name for your bracket, a display name to be used throughout the game and check the box to receive game emails (reminders, etc.).

If you've received a group invitation via email, clicking the link in the email starts the process to create a bracket.
2
GROUP PLAY
After you've created a bracket, decide what group to join. Or create your own or reactivate last year's group. You may change groups until any game is scored.

There are official team groups which are open to the public.

There are also user-created groups. They may be public groups which do not require a password or private groups which do require a password.

Groups may use custom scoring (points per correct pick per round, bonus points for seed differential or upsets), include their own message board, leaderboard, and more.
3
INVITE FRIENDS
Once you're in a group, you can begin inviting friends, family, and co-workers to join. From within the Groups section, click the Invite Friends menu link and begin entering email addresses.

Plus, you can invite your friends on Facebook or Twitter by following the step-by-step instructions. It's very easy.
4
MAKE YOUR PICKS
Shortly after the bracket is announced on Selection Sunday, you can begin filling out your bracket. Or you can import picks from another bracket, celebrity brackets or expert brackets.

To advance a team, it's as simple as clicking the winning team. Or, you can view additional information about the matchup by clicking the "info" icon within each matchup.

The Matchup Analysis has everything you'll need for making your selection - statistics, schedules, pick popularity, predictions from our friends at WhatIfSports.com.

Picks for the contest lock with the start of the first game (excluding the First Four).

Once games begin, your bracket page updates frequently. When a tourney game finishes, your pick and bracket status will be updated within a few minutes. You can track how others in your group are faring in near real-time.
5
GROUP LEADERBOARD
If you're in a group, that's where most of the action is! Participate in group chatter and follow along with the group leaderboard.

Once the field is down to 16 or fewer teams, the Potential Leaders are calculated each night of game play. We run every possible remaining scenario and tally the results. Which team has the best chance of winning, which team has the highest average potential score, etc.
6
WHAT IF SCENARIO
Starting with the Sweet Sixteen, you can create a "What If" Scenario to see how the group will look if a certain outcome occurs (before it actually does).

Watch the group leaderboard update as you adjust the future. Save, share, and discuss with the group.
7
CHECK YOUR STANDINGS
See how you stack up against the rest of the competition -- both in your groups and the overall population. Will you have a shot at winning a prize?

Don't forget to follow along with the celebrity and expert leaderboards.

Now that you know what FOX Bracket Challenge is all about, it's time to set your bracket! PLAY
