Percy Harvin Sea - WR
News: Harvin (hip) will practice this week, and the Seahawks are hoping to have him available for the team's first playoff game, the Everett Herald's John Boyle reports. (Dec 30)
Impact: Harvin was seemingly trending toward a shutdown but may now have a chance to return for the postseason. With the Seahawks owning the NFC's No. 1 seed, he'll have two weeks to prepare for a divisional round matchup against either the Packers, Saints, or 49ers. If he's somehow able to suit up for that contest, a formidable Seattle team would get that much stronger. For what it's worth, Harvin tweeted Monday that he'll see fans in two weeks, adding, "it's go time once again." While the optimism is a good sign, we wouldn't take it to mean that Harvin will definitely play. The situation still bears watching, though. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 6:27p ET)

Calvin Johnson Det - WR
News: Prior to being let go by the Lions, coach Jim Schwartz noted that Johnson will most likely require a minor surgical procedure to repair his right knee, the Detroit News reports. "He's going to need some surgery," according to Schwartz. "Nothing major. Not microfracture surgery or anything like that." (Dec 30)
Impact: ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that Johnson had been dealing with a sprained knee "with loose bodies" in it, while earlier reports suggested that Megatron may have been dealing with a partially torn PCL since October. In any case, it appears as though Johnson's knee issue will be addressed this offseason, and barring any unexpected findings, we'd expect him to be ready to go next season, and at the top of the 2014 fantasy wideout rankings. Johnson finished this season with 84 receptions for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 12:09p ET)

Alex Smith KC - QB
News: Smith is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers, ESPN's Adam Teicher reports. (Dec 29)
Impact: The Chiefs, whose playoff seeding is set, aren't taking any chances Sunday, with RB Jamaal Charles also resting. Chase Daniel is slated to start at QB in Smith's place. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 3:27p ET)

Aaron Rodgers GB - QB
News: Rodgers (collarbone) is active and will start Sunday against Chicago. (Dec 29)
Impact: After weeks of speculation, Rodgers will officially make his return, after a seven-game absence. Awaiting him will be a Bears defense that knocked him out of their last matchup, but has been vulnerable against the pass recently. The weather could also become a factor in this game; the forecast calls for cold temperatures with wind gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 2:59p ET)

Calvin Johnson Det - WR
News: Johnson (knee) is listed as inactive Sunday in Minnesota, Chris McCsoky of the Detroit News reports. (Dec 29)
Impact: The Lions will consider the future and hold out Johnson, who may require an offseason procedure to remove "loose bodies" from his sprained right knee, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. While Johnson will yield wideout targets to Nate Burleson, Kris Durham, and Kevin Ogletree, he finishes his seventh season with 84 receptions (on 156 targets) for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns, the fourth campaign in which he's reached the end zone at least one dozen times. Randall Cobb GB - WR
News: Updating a previous report, Cobb (leg) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, despite the fact that he was activated from injured reserve Saturday, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports. (Dec 28)
Impact: The activation is still good news for Green Bay fans and Cobb's fantasy owners, but it would appear that there's no guarantee the gifted wideout will play Sunday. While he still looks like a pretty good bet to suit up, this further complicates an already tricky situation. Even if he plays, there remains the possibility that Cobb will handle a reduced number of snaps. The upside here is alluring, but there's no doubt that Cobb makes for a dangerous play. At the very least, fantasy owners will want to make sure that Cobb is active for Sunday's game, before placing him in the lineup. Unfortunately, the Packers don't play until 4:25 PM ET, which limits the available alternatives. Seeing as Sunday's game decides the NFC North, the Packers won't necessarily take a cautious approach with their star wideout. Furthermore, Cobb tweeted "all hands on deck" shortly after the announcement of his activation. Again, the signs are mostly positive, but the situation remains worth watching. Adrian Peterson Min - RB
News: Peterson (foot) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Lions. (Dec 28)
Impact: Previously listed as doubtful, Peterson was officially ruled out Saturday afternoon. With Toby Gerhart (hamstring) also sidelined, Matt Asiata will get the start at halfback, while Joe Banyard serves as the backup. Peterson finishes the 2013 season with 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 279 carries, with another 171 yards and a touchdown on 29 receptions. It was a season that may have been disappointing to some, but Peterson still had an excellent year in just 14 games. His foot should be fine well before the 2014 campaign, and he'll be a consensus first-round pick in the majority of formats. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 4:46p ET)

Dwayne Bowe KC - WR
News: Bowe (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, ESPN.com reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: With Bowe ruled out and the Chiefs locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC, we'd expect the likes of Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins to see added looks in the team's Week 17 offense. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 4:39p ET)

Dez Bryant Dal - WR
News: Bryant (back) is probable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia. (Dec 27)
Impact: Bryant's back ailment isn't a serious issue and, even with Kyle Orton at quarterback instead of Tony Romo, owners in Week 17 leagues are all but compelled to start Bryant in the majority of cases. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 3:38p ET)

Wes Welker Den - WR
News: Welker (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Raiders, Gray Caldwell of DenverBroncos.com reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: Welker, who was able to practice on a limited basis this week, will travel with the Broncos to Oakland, both items that bode well for his chances of returning to action in the postseason, following the team's first-round bye. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 3:00p ET)

Eddie Lacy GB - RB
News: Lacy (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against Chicago. (Dec 27)
Impact: Lacy's only practice appearance this week was a limited showing Friday, but he followed that same routine leading up to each of his last two games and proved highly effective, totaling 361 yards and three touchdowns from scrimmage. He looks like a solid RB1 consideration in most formats as he takes on a Chicago run defense that has embarrassed itself for most of the year. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 1:55p ET)

Adrian Peterson Min - RB
News: Peterson (foot) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Detroit, Minneapolis Star Tribune writer Chip Scoggins reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: Peterson is doubtful and Toby Gerhart (hamstring) is out for Minnesota, so Matt Asiata will likely return to the starting lineup against the Lions. It appears Peterson will end the year with 1,266 yards (4.5 YPC) and 10 touchdowns on the ground and 29 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown in 14 appearances. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 1:44p ET)

Thad Lewis Buf - QB
News: The Bills do not feel comfortable putting EJ Manuel (knee) out there for Sunday's finale in New England and Lewis (shoulder) will start at quarterback, BuffaloBills.com reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: There are probably plenty of better fantasy QB options on the board, but at least Lewis knows what he's doing in this offense - it'll be his fifth start this season - and there's a chance his team could be playing from behind and chucking the ball often. For Lewis, this will be a good chance to make his case to be brought back in as the No. 2 quarterback next season, and becoming the first Bills quarterback to win at Gillette Field would go a long way toward that quest. EJ Manuel Buf - QB
News: The Bills do not feel comfortable putting Manuel (knee) out there for Sunday's finale in New England and Thad Lewis (shoulder) will start at quarterback, BuffaloBills.com reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: We imagine that means Manuel (listed as doubtful by the Bills) will probably not even dress, which is probably for the best as he already has three knee injuries in his rookie season and there's no reason to risk a setback on an injury that should currently heal quickly into what will be an important offseason for Manuel. Lewis will now be the guy that tries to spoils the Patriots' quest for home field throughout the playoffs. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 12:17p ET)

Calvin Johnson Det - WR
News: Johnson (knee) sat out Friday's practice, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: Johnson has often been limited at practice throughout the season, but he has not suited up at all this week. Head coach Jim Schwartz said Thursday that a final decision on Johnson's status may not come until Sunday, but with the Lions playing for nothing more than pride against the Vikings, it should not come as a surprise if he is held out. Dez Bryant Dal - WR
News: Bryant (back) took part in Friday's practice, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports. (Dec 27)
Impact: Bryant sat out Thursday's session after feeling soreness in his back the day before, but he was able to return to the practice field Friday. The Cowboys will update Bryant's status when they release Friday's injury report, but he is on track to play Friday barring any setbacks in the next couple days. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 11:52a ET)

Kyle Orton Dal - QB
News: Orton will be the starting quarterback in Sunday's game against the Eagles. (Dec 27)
Impact: Tony Romo underwent back surgery Friday and is out for the season, so Orton will start Sunday's game, as well as any others should the Cowboys advance to the postseason. Orton has thrown just five passes all season, but he doesn't lack for experience with 69 career starts under his belt, and he will have the luxury of facing an Eagles defense that ranks 30th in the league against the pass. Tony Romo Dal - QB
News: Romo underwent back surgery Friday morning and is out for the season. (Dec 27)
Impact: The Cowboys played it coy with Romo's situation all week, but it turns out his back injury was actually as serious as first reported, and he will not play again during the current campaign. Kyle Orton will take over as the Cowboys' starting quarterback the rest of the way, with Romo on IR. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 11:29a ET)

Dez Bryant Dal - WR
News: Bryant (back) officially didn't practice Thursday, Rowan Kavner of the Cowboys' official site reports. (Dec 26)
Impact: Bryant did catch some balls in the early portions of drills but was eventually removed in order for the Cowboys' training staff to treat his back, which flared up Wednesday. There is no indication that the receiver is in danger of sitting out Sunday against the Eagles, especially with the NFC East title and a playoff berth up for grabs. However, his availability should become known once Friday's injury report is released. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 4:09p ET)

Eddie Lacy GB - RB
News: Although Lacy didn't take part in practice Thursday, coach Mike McCarthy feels that the running back is "in a good place," despite a sore ankle, and expects him to suit up Sunday at Chicago. (Dec 26)
Impact: Lacy should be able to handle his typical Friday reps, but practice isn't a requirement for active status when game day arrives Sunday. He seems poised to enter the weekend with a questionable tag, but optimism surrounding his situation is forecasting his presence in the Packers' backfield behind/next to Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) in Week 17. Randall Cobb GB - WR
News: Cobb (fibula) will undergo an evaluation Friday, Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin reports. Speaking of the wideout, coach Mike McCarthy said, "I thought Randall had very good day today...I feel a lot better now. He took a step in that direction." (Dec 26)
Impact: The upcoming exam could result in Cobb's activation from the IR/designated-to-return list, and McCarthy's optimism provides hope that the Packers' receiving corps will be intact for the imminent return of Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) in Sunday's season finale in Chicago, which will decide the division winner and a playoff berth. Aaron Rodgers GB - QB
News: Rodgers (collarbone), who practiced in full Thursday, will start Sunday's season finale in Chicago, Mike Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. (Dec 26)
Impact: The news we've been waiting to hear for many weeks has finally come to fruition, after Rodgers received medical clearance to return to the field. He'll face the same defense that knocked him out in Week 9 with a broken left collarbone, only now the NFC North title and a playoff berth is on the line. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 2:42p ET)

EJ Manuel Buf - QB
News: Manuel (knee) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice, BuffaloBills.com reports. He shared the starter's reps with backup Thad Lewis. (Dec 26)
Impact: Coach Doug Marrone has backed way off from his "110 percent" comment from last week over Manuel's availability for Week 17, which is now going to depend on a number of factors, such as how Manuel looks Friday, the weather report, etc. The Bills play in the late set of games Sunday, so hopefully Marrone will clarify the situation sometime before Sunday's first wave of games. Matt Schaub Oak - QB
News: Texans interim coach Wade Phillips has not made a decision on who will start Sunday against the Titans, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports. (Dec 26)
Impact: Schaub completed less than 50 percent of his passes and threw two interceptions in last Sunday's loss to Denver, the team's 13th consecutive defeat, and it sounds like Phillips is considering going back to Case Keenum (thumb) to close the year. Whoever does get the nod will have a relatively tough task ahead of him, as the Titans rank seventh in the league against fantasy quarterbacks. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 10:53a ET)

News: Pettigrew (ankle) has been placed on IR by the Lions, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports. (Dec 25)
Impact: Pettigrew, who is slated to become a free agent this offseason, finishes up the 2013 season with 41 catches for 416 yards and a pair of TDs in 14 games. His absence this week will create added opportunities in the Lions' season finale for fellow TE Joseph Fauria. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 5:14p ET)
