During Week 3 of last season, Peyton Manning threw for 379 yards and four touchdowns, and Reggie Wayne had seven receptions for 126 yards and one score at Arizona.

Those fantasy stars with the best matchups will often produce the top weekly stats and help lead fantasy teams to victory that week. While fantasy studs are started every week, not all of them produce great games every week.

He's already run for 142 yards and two scores against Oakland in Week 1, and is poised to repeat that outing. Justifiably, he sputtered last week against one of the league’s top run defenses with Pittsburgh. Of note, he ran for an 85-yard touchdown in the second quarter that was nullified by a penalty

The Giants' run defense has been erratic since the end of last season, permitting big games to running backs. Last season, Jonathan Stewart ran for 206 yards and one score in Week 16 for a game New York needed to win to remain in the playoff hunt. Last game, Joseph Addai and Donald Brown combined for 161 rushing yards and one touchdown against the Giants. — Roger Rotter

Peterson has produced solid fantasy days against Detroit. He ran for 116 yards and two scores in Week 13 of his rookie 2007 season; he recorded two 100-yard rushing games in 2008; and ran for 133 yards and two scores in Week 10 last year.

The Lions defense is still having difficulty stopping running backs similar to last season. It’s already allowed Matt Forte to total 201 yards and two scores in Week 1, and LeSean McCoy to run for 120 yards and three scores last contest. — Roger Rotter

Though he’s off to a slow start this season, Rice has produced well against Cleveland. During his 2007 rookie season, he totaled 176 yards by running for 154 yards and gaining 22 yards from two receptions. Last season, Rice totaled 104 yards and one score in Week 10 against Cleveland’s fifth-worst run defense.

Of note, Jamal Lewis holds the NFL record of the second-most rushing yards in a game with 295 against Cleveland in 2003. — Roger Rotter

As Tom Brady has generated great results against Buffalo, his top wideout Moss has produced some superb games against the Bills.

Moss had 115 yards and two scores in Week 3 and caught 10 passes for 128 yards and four scores in Week 11 of 2007. Last season, he had 12 receptions for 141 yards in the opener and added 70 receiving yards and a score in Week 15. — Roger Rotter

He’s produced some of his best career fantasy games against the Bills, and has already thrown for 506 yards and five touchdowns this season. His superb efforts against Buffalo include passing totals of 311 yards and four touchdowns in Week 3 and 373 yards and five touchdowns in Week 11 during 2007; and 378 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 of last season.

The Bills defense also looked shaky in Week 2, allowing Aaron Rodgers to throw for 255 yards and two touchdowns and run for a score. — Roger Rotter

With Matt Ryan as his quarterback, White has generated solid results against the Saints. He had four receptions for 108 yards and one score in Week 8 last year. During 2008, White caught five passes for 68 yards and one score in Week 10 and had 10 receptions for 164 yards in Week 14.

He also had great success without Ryan during 2007 when he caught eight passes for 110 yards and one score in Week 7, and had 75 receiving yards and one touchdown in Week 14. — Roger Rotter

St. Louis was one of the worst run defenses by allowing the most rushing scores last season, and little appears to have changed.

Tim Hightower totaled 94 yards and one score in the opener, and Darren McFadden ran for 145 yards in Week 2.

Portis had an outstanding fantasy game at St. Louis in Week 6 of 2008. He ran for 129 yards and two scores and added 14 receiving yards. — Roger Rotter

Drew Brees has generated great results against Atlanta, posting passing averages of 308 yards and 2.3 touchdowns during the past seven meetings.

As a result, Brees’ top wide receiver Colston has produced noteworthy fantasy games against the Falcons. These include nine catches for 92 yards and two scores in Week 14 of 2007 and seven receptions for 140 yards in Week 10 of 2008. Last season, he had six receptions for 85 yards and one score in Week 8 and caught six passes for 54 yards and one score in Week 14. — Roger Rotter

The Steelers had four sacks and forced seven turnovers at Tennessee last game. It aims for a second straight dominating fantasy performance.

The Buccaneers had the third-most turnovers (34) last season, and the second-most interceptions (29). Their second-year quarterback Josh Freeman has played well during the first two victories, but Pittsburgh presents a much tougher challenge than Cleveland or Carolina. — Roger Rotter

Cleveland has scored only 14 points during each of the first two games, and it meets a better defense with Baltimore. The Ravens have allowed zero touchdowns this season. Cleveland has also had five turnovers during the first two games.

Last season, the Ravens dominated the Browns. They allowed just three points, acquired two sacks and had four interceptions in Week 3. It then posted a shutout, acquired four sacks, forced two interceptions and scored a touchdown from a pick in Week 10. — Roger Rotter
