It's amazing how six rushes for -1 yards earns you "dud" honors from the people of fantasy football nation.  To quote one owner: "Definitely! 6 Carries -1 Yards....Suck." - Ryan Fowler

All those fantasy points scored by the Patriots and all Welker could muster up were three catches for 14 yards.  It's like when you know your significant other is about to break up with you, but they haven't done it yet.  - Ryan Fowler

You didn't think I forgot, did you?  Kevin Ogletree became every owner's waiver wire crush last Thursday after a monster opening night performance where he hauled in eight balls (11 targets) for 114 yards and two touchdowns.  Do I believe he's the next Laurent Robinson?  No, not yet.  Jason Witten was playing at less than 100 percent on Wednesday and I believe he's still the top option in the passing game, then Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and finally Ogletree.  The sample size on what KO can do just isn't there to justify burning a waiver wire claim on a guy you know you are going to fight with yourself with every week on whether or not to start so you can justify the claim.  Remember Michael Jenkins last season? - Ryan Fowler

Andrew Luck didn't look great in his regular-season debut against the Bears, but he and Reggie Wayne are definitely on the same page.  Wayne, another one of my suggested starts for Week 1, was targeted 18 times!  He finished with nine receptions for 135 yards.  His PPR-league value just jumped.  If some owner is shopping him, I'd jump at the chance to add him to your roster.  - Ryan Fowler

Put your arms down.  Mike Vick may have eeked out a win over an offensively inept Cleveland Browns team, but his fantasy owners are definitely concerned heading into Week 2.  Vick finished 29-56 (56?!) for 317 yards and two touchdowns.  That's the good.  The bad were the four (4!) interceptions and 32 rushing yards.  The only defense I have is that the Browns' pass defense is greatly undervalued/under-appreciated.  Cleveland finished with a Top 10 pass defense in 2011.  Still, for the Eagles to only win by one is on Vick and the four picks. - Ryan Fowler

Garcon injured his foot (X-rays negative) on his 88-yard touchdown catch and run and did not play in the second half for the Redskins.  Still, his four receptions for 109-plus yards justified my Week 1 "start 'em" suggestion.  He and RG3 have something brewing in the Washington passing game.  It sounds like a few days of rest will be good for Garcon and should be ready for Week 2 in a juicy matchup against the Rams.  Chalk up another fantasy stud performance for the kid out of Mount Union.  Alliance, Ohio represent! - Ryan Fowler

Owners of Victor Cruz, do me a favor: Take a deep breath.  It's going to be OK. It's true, Cruz had three inexcusable drops last Wednesday night against the Giants.  However, he led the team in targets (11), receptions (six) and receiving yards (58).  So, quit trying to sell low after one game.  I'd be buying low if I could.  I believe Cruz thinks he's top-dog in the Giants' receivers pecking order ahead of Hakeem Nicks now.  A year ago, we didn't know who Victor Cruz was and I think that change in mentality added to his Week 1 jitters.  He'll bounce back. Overanalysis?  Maybe.  - Ryan Fowler 

WARNING: The Falcons' offense is to be reckoned with on Sundays.  Matt Ryan has no more excuses.  In Week 1, he hooked up with Jones — a WR2 who would be considered a WR1 on most NFL franchises — six times for 108 yards and two touchdowns (nine targets, led team).  Roddy White caught six balls for 87 yards on eight targets.  I truly believe the two will continue to receive the same amount of looks from Ryan throughout the season.  It's a luxury and one Matty Ice is going to take advantage of this season.  The trickle-down impact on Michael Turner (11 carries, 32 yards) is something to monitor. - Ryan Fowler
 

The math was simple on this fantasy dud: Vikings' offense + ADP active and productive = Toby G's irrelevance.  I started Gerhart on Sunday thinking there was no chance Peterson could withstand four quarters of football.  I was wrong.  Instead, Gerhart received seven touches for 26 total yards.  He still holds value as insurance, but falls to a RB4/5 until otherwise noted. - Ryan Fowler

RG3, NFL.  NFL, RG3.  Now that you two have formally been introduced, CAN WE FREAK OUT over the rookie quarterback's debut on Sunday?! Andrew Luck received all the kudos during the preseason, but when it came to Week 1, in a game that counted, the rook out of Baylor outshined the kid from Stanford.  Griffin finished 19-26 for 320 yards and two touchdowns as he and Pierre Garcon built a chemistry in the first half (four receptions for 109 yards and a TD).  RG3 also chipped in 42 yards on the ground.  Best part for fantasy owners: no turnovers.  Icing on the cake: Redskins go into New Orleans and snag a win to start the season. - Ryan Fowler

Chris, I thought we went over this last season.  To be fair, Johnson's first-week fantasy dud performance isn't ALL on him.  The Titans fell behind 21-3 to the Patriots in the first half.  Turns out 18-point deficits can really hurt one's rushing attack.  So, CJ finished with 11 carries for four yards (stop laughing).  However, he also posted 47 receiving yards on six catches with seven targets (second-most on the Titans Sunday).  I'm not selling Johnson after one bad game, even after a dismal 2011 campaign. - Ryan Fowler
 

Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and MCL on December 24, 2011.  Those types of knee injuries normally take 9-12 months to rehab and recover.  Well, we knew ADP was not and has not been the normal fantasy football running back.  Still, I tip my cap to Peterson.  All week I was suggesting owners bench him this week due to the uber-quick (rushed?) return.  Not only was he in the lineup, but he started!  He finished with 84 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns.  Nothing like easing your way back into the flow of the game.  I'm still a believer in ADP insurance the rest of the season. - Ryan Fowler
