Some owners may read these fantasy blurbs and laugh at the thought of starting Beanie Wells or any Arizona running back for that matter, but realize every single week I receive numerous questions from people asking if Beanie is a good start vs. {insert team here}.  Just remember, there are leagues deeper than your 8-team keeper.  As of the time this feature was published, Ken Whisenhunt hadn't committed to Ryan Lindley as his starting quarterback in Week 14 against the Seahawks.  If he eventually does, Seattle faces a QB that finished 10-31 for 72 passing yards with an interception against the Jets.  That will allow their defense (plus 12th man a.k.a. the crowd) to load up the box and shut down any rushing attempt.  In two starts since returning from injury, Wells has averaged less than three yards per rush.  It's Week 14, we can do better. - Ryan Fowler

When it comes to fantasy football, Larry Fitzgerald is as close to worthless as it gets if Ryan Lindley is behind center.  He's caught four balls for 54 yards on 19 targets the last two games.  However, if you look back at the Cardinal's Week 1 box score, the first time the Cardinals faced the Seahawks, Kevin Kolb and John Skelton really didn't help Fitzgerald owners either.  Fitz finished with four receptions for 63 yards with no scores against Seattle in that game.  The defense allows the third-fewest points to opposing wide receivers this season (17.4 FP).  I'd bench Fitzgerald in Week 14. - Ryan Fowler

The New England Patriots are averaging 34.8 points per game at home.  The Houston Texans have allowed 26 points per game over their last three.  Sure, fantasy analysts like myself can twist stats all sorts of directions to support their argument, but are you, fantasy owner, truly ready to challenge Tom Brady at home in a) your regular season finale b) the first round of the playoffs?  All I ask is that you remember the numbers Aaron Rodgers, Chad Henne and Matthew Stafford posted against them this season.  Oh, and opposing defenses are averaging 1.7 fantasy points per game against the Pats this season. - Ryan Fowler

Where to begin with the artist formerly known as Run DMC?  Let's begin with his health.  McFadden's ankle was nearly good to go in Week 13, so all signs point to him playing in Week 14 against the Broncos on Thursday night.  He last played on November 4 against the Buccaneers.  Since then, Marcel Reece became a fan favorite of fantasy owners with his pass-catching talents earning him extra praise from PPR-league owners.  However, Reece was moved back to his usual fullback role last weekend as Jeremy Stewart, and not Taiwan Jones, became the latest body added to the Raiders' running back by committee.  They now have McFadden, Mike Goodson, Stewart, and Reece to share touches and confuse owners.  It's not wise to try and shoehorn McFadden (two touchdowns in 2012) into your Week 14 lineup with him facing Denver's seventh-ranked rush defense either. - Ryan Fowler

Dwyane Wade's better half just turned 40 years old this past October.  Ms. Union's background includes roles as a sassy cheerleader in "Bring It On" and, who could forget, as Martin Lawrence's sister and Will Smith's, a.k.a. Fantasy owners of Cecil Shorts III need to keep tabs on his concussion symptoms and testing as the week plays out.  If he's cleared to play, he starts on Sunday against the Jets.  Shorts III deserves some votes as the "Fantasy Flier of the Year" as the Jaguars' wide receiver's consistent play has allowed him to garner the fourth-most fantasy points among wide receivers over the last four weeks behind only Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant and Andre Johnson.  Yeah, that's good company.  He's second in the NFL in yards per catch at 19.2 behind Vincent Jackson and has scored a touchdown in four straight games.  - Ryan Fowler

It's a matter of trust in the Giants' backfield.  That is to say head coach Tom Coughlin doesn't trust rookie running back David Wilson.  So, in the team's first game since second-string running back Andre "The Vulture" Brown was placed on injured reserve, Ahmad Bradshaw received 24 carries compared to Wilson's four.  Bradshaw owners have to be ecstatic with the Saints' porous rush defense on tap in Week 14.  The Saints allow the most fantasy points to opposing running backs (23.8 per game).  Bradshaw is a must-start. - Ryan Fowler
 

LeSean McCoy is in the third stage of the team's concussion testing process.  He still has to pass the final two stages in order to be cleared to play in Week 14.  Regardless, I believe fantasy owners would be hard pressed to justify a reason to not start Bryce Brown at this point after the rookie racked up 347 rushing yards with four touchdowns the last two weeks.  If you are worried about the Buccaneers' top-ranked rush defense, know they just allowed Knowshon Moreno to rack up 69 yards along with four receptions (Bryce can catch, too) for 14 yards.  He's a low-end RB2/FLEX vs Tampa Bay. - Ryan Fowler

Greg Jennings' return to the Packers didn't completely crush the fantasy value of Randall Cobb.  He finished with six receptions for 62 yards (six targets) last week.  Fantasy owners need to pay attention to Jordy Nelson's health status the rest of the week as the receiver is dealing with a bad hamstring for the second time this season.  At this moment, I'd be surprised if he played.  That opens the door for Cobb, Jennings and James Jones against a Lions' pass defense that just got carved up by Andrew Luck in Week 13.  Detroit's secondary has now allowed 21 touchdowns via the pass with only 10 interceptions.  I'd take a 2:1 ratio with Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball. - Ryan Fowler

Remember when Reggie Bush shocked the fantasy world with a late-season surge last season?  BenJarvus Green-Ellis may be channeling his inner-Reggie Bush in 2012.  That sounds weird, but you know what I mean.  After an uber-sluggish start to his first season in Cincinnati, "The Law Firm" has eclipsed 100 rushing yards in each of the last three games against the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers.  Green-Ellis returns home to face a Dallas rush defense that has been gashed by opposing running backs the last three games.  Trent Richardson, Alfred Morris and Bryce Brown - three rookies - have racked up 377 yards on the ground during that stretch.  Green-Ellis has no threat behind him and should receive 18-22 carries in Week 14.  - Ryan Fowler
