WATCH: Week 14 Recap

Michael Turner experienced his best game of the season in Atlanta's first meeting with Carolina back in Week 4.  He finished with 171 total yards with a touchdown.  In that game, Turner finished with 103 yards on 13 carries (7.9 YPR).  In Week 14's rematchup with the Panthers, he was basically invisible.  The Panthers built a 23-0 lead in the third and removed the Falcons' rushing attack out of the equation.  Turner owners were lucky he fell into the end zone in the game's final minute because he finished with seven carries for 14 yards (2.0 YPR) as his fantasy value becomes as cloudy as ever once again. - Ryan Fowler
 

Fred Jackson received 25 carries in Week 13 against the Jaguars and fantasy owners noticed.  The percentage of owners who plugged F-Jax back into their starting lineup soared 14.8 percent week-over-week.  Those owners would be bummed to learn that not only did Jackson finish with a paltry nine carries for 14 yards with five receptions for 16 yards and a fumble, but the running back also suffered a knee injury that puts the rest of his season in jeopardy.  If its serious, it would be the third injury suffered by Jackson this season.  C.J. Spiller owners would receive a boost the rest of the way. - Ryan Fowler

I couldn't believe it when I punched it into my calculator.  The Pittsburgh Steelers DST is averaging only six fantasy points per game this season (13 games).  After allowing Philip Rivers to pass for 200 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, forcing no turnovers and giving up 34 points to a Chargers franchise on the brink of scraping everything and rebuilding, the Steelers earned fantasy owners zero, none, nada, fantasy points in Week 14.  It's the sixth time the fantasy DST has posted five or less fantasy points in a game this season. - Ryan Fowler

The risk was evident.  After all Tampa Bay was tops in the NFL against the rush allowing less than 83 rush yards per game.  However, the Buccaneers fell to 17th when it came to fantasy points allowed to opposing running back - 17.1.  So, with Bryce Brown's recent success in mind, fantasy owners had the good sense and right to roll the dice with Brown in Week 14.  Unfortunately, sometimes good sense doesn't equate to great success.  Brown finished with 12 carries for six yards with two receptions for six yards.  Huge buzzkill for those leaning on him in the RB2 slot. - Ryan Fowler

In his first game since being named the starter the rest of the season, Nick Foles did what he was suppose to do against the Buccaneers: torch their pass defense.  He finished 32-51 for 381 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions with three carries for 27 yards with a rushing score.  Foles explodes for 35.9 fantasy points against the Buccaneers who face a frustrated Drew Brees in Week 15.  That could get ugly. Brees scored 40 the last time the Saints and Buccs met. - Ryan Fowler

Yes, most of the points came in garbage time, but it was refreshing to watch Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Wallace hit the time machine and take us back to better days when the duo hooked up on a weekly basis.  Wallace, 23.2 fantasy points against the Chargers, finished with seven receptions (most since Week 8) for 112 yards (most since Week 3) with two touchdowns (first game with two scores in 2012). - Ryan Fowler

These Thursday night NFL games of the week have really thrown a wrench to fantasy football analysis and projecting who is going to do what, well and when.  Thus is the curious case of Knowshon Moreno, a player known more for his knack for injury than posting monster fantasy stats, who finished with 32 carries for 119 yards with a touchdown and adding four receptions for 38 yards.  The 32 carries, a career-high, came at a price for Peyton Manning owners who were prepared for huge returns against the soft Oakland defense.  Instead, Moreno owners were rewarded for their gamble with 22.7 fantasy points. - Ryan Fowler

It may just be me, but has Vincent Jackson's first season with Tampa Bay gone greatly unnoticed despite monster, Pro Bowl numbers this season?  Granted, rookie Doug Martin's campaign could have something to do with the somewhat muted public response to Jackson's efforts.  The wide receiver continued to pay dividends in Week 14 with six receptions for 131 yards with a touchdown.  It marked the seventh game this season where V-Jax has recorded 14 or more fantasy points. - Ryan Fowler

Marshall was targeted a team-high 19 times, caught 10 balls for 160 yards with a touchdown and Chicago only scored 14 points against the Vikings.  It was his fourth game this season where he's finished with 10 or more receptions and the second game in a row with 160 or more receiving yards.  Owners should pay attention to Jay Cutler's health status (left game with a neck injury) throughout the week before green-lighting a Marshall start in Week 15.  - Ryan Fowler

D.J. Skittles, a.k.a. Marshawn Lynch, broke out for his best fantasy performance in the first week of the fantasy playoffs for many.  He only carried the ball 11 times, but finished with 128 yards with three touchdowns.  His 30.8 fantasy points are 9.3 points better than his previous high this season when he racked up 21.5 against St. Louis in Week 4.  With the game out of reach early, Robert Turbin relieved Lynch and finished with 108 yards on 20 carries. - Ryan Fowler

A popular question posed on Twitter during Week 13's Cardinals and Jets offensive thriller was: "John Skelton can't be this bad, can he?"  As it turns out, the answer is yes, yes he can be as bad as Ryan Lindley.  Skelton completed 11 passes to his receivers, four passes to Seattle defenders (one returned for six), fumbled once, and was sacked three times with no touchdowns.  On special teams, the Seahawks recovered a fumble and returned it to the end zone for another touchdown.  The defense held Arizona to 154 yards of total offense in the 58-0 shellacking.  The Seahawks' fantasy DST fell 0.1 fantasy point shy of tying Cam Newton as the clubhouse leader in fantasy points scored in Week 14 with 41.0.  - Ryan Fowler

For the third game in a row, Cam Newton scored more than 35 fantasy points (41.1 in Week 14).  He's averaged over 39 points per game during that stretch.  Newton just wishes he had one more game against the Falcons this season.  When you add the 287 passing and 117 rushing yards along with the three total touchdowns accumulated in Week 14 to his first meeting with the "Dirty Birds," Newton finished with 502 pass and 203 rush yards with six touchdowns against the Falcons this season. - Ryan Fowler
