Ever since Steven Jackson survived the trade deadline and remained a member of the Rams, the veteran running back has performed well above average.  He's finished with over 100 total yards four times over the last six games.  However, I'm not thinking it would be wise to roll the dice with S-Jax (only three touchdowns this season) as a RB2 against the top-rated Buccaneers rush defense that allows less than 85 rush yards per game.  In certain cases, I could green light a Jackson start as a flex and in PPR leagues.  He's caught 14 balls for 151 yards in the last three games. - Ryan Fowler

Don't even consider it.  Wells' three touchdowns against the Lions were due mainly to failures on the part of Detroit and not as much the play of the Cardinals' running back.  He's averaging 2.8 yards per carry this season and faces one of the best rush defenses in the league.  While they may be 12th against the rush (109.0 yapg.), the Bears have allowed the third-fewest rushing touchdowns - six. - Ryan Fowler

This is dicey situation for Colston owners when you consider his fantasy scoring arc this season.  The wide receiver benefited greatly from Jimmy Graham's absence in the early portion of the season.  In his first six games, he scored five touchdowns, was targeted 10 or more times in four of those contests with two games where he posted more than 131 yards.  In the last eight games, Colston has scored three touchdowns with 71 receiving yards against Atlanta as his high-water mark during that stretch.  The truth is Drew Brees continues to spread the wealth to a variety of receivers with no specific goal to get Colston the ball, a unique role for a WR1 on a team.  Start at your own risk. - Ryan Fowler

The San Francisco 49ers have allowed 218 points this season.  The Seattle Seahawks have allowed 219.  The Niners allow 293 yards per game, while the Seahawks allow 303 total yards per game.  The Seahawks, with the 12th man behind them, have allowed 11.5 points per game in six home games this season including four games where the opposing offenses failed to score 14 points.  Kaepernick has been a pleasant surprise for owners who rode his hot hand (and legs) to their fantasy football finale, but this is a game where I believe he should sit out. - Ryan Fowler

This is just a friendly reminder for Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White (knee), Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, and company owners.  The Falcons, 12-2, currently have a two-game lead for best record in the NFC, which would award them a first-round BYE and homefield throughout the playoffs.  If they build a sizeable lead against a Lions' team in the midst of a 2012 meltdown, don't be surprised to see your reliable studs start to slow their production in the second half.  I'm not saying coach Smith is going to bench his starters with a BYE and homefield advantage on the line.  What I'm saying is that owners need to think about the "what-ifs" if the Falcons build a lead and what that means to their fantasy bottom line in Week 16. - Ryan Fowler

My suggestion to bench Ballard in Week 15 due to a tough matchup against the Texans looked great on paper ... then they played the game.  I tip my cap to the Colts' running back that worked his way up the depth chart when the opportunity presented itself with  Donald Brown dealing with injuries before ultimately winding up on injured reserve.  For the second week in a row, Ballard eclipsed 100 total yards, but, as predicted, lost the goal-line touch to Mewelde Moore (Delone Carter was inactive), who fumbled.  Ballard has averaged 4.6, 4.9 and 5.8 yards per carry the last three weeks, respectively.  Against the Chiefs, who just allowed Darren McFadden to rush for 110 yards (30 carries) and Oakland to rush for over 200 as a team, Ballard is a RB2.  Pray for a touch inside the five! - Ryan Fowler

Rob Gronkowski may return to the Patriots in Week 16 after missing the past four games with a broken forearm.  The trickle-down fantasy impact linked to his playing status is immense with fantasy football champonships on the line for many this weekend.  As great as Aaron Hernandez has been since returning from injury, his fantasy value will suffer because of Gronk's return.  Brandon Lloyd's recent fantasy burst (17 receptions on 25 targets for 279 yards with a touchdown) is part talent, part smoke and mirrors.  First, consider the fact Gronk was not in the lineup the last two weeks when Lloyd shined.  If Gronk returns, Lloyd can expect less targets as was the case the first half of the season. Secondly, the bulk of Lloyd's fantasy production against the Niners came when New England was in rally mode down 31-7 in a driving rain/sleet/gross mix on Monday night.   Wes Welker's value does not change in Week 16.  Keep tabs on Gronk's status via my Twitter account @FOXSportsFowler throughout the week. - Ryan Fowler

Eli Manning isn't the easiest fantasy quarterback to embrace.  Most will remember his midseason swoon where he averaged 177 passing yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions during a three-game stretch prior to the team's bye week.  Fresh off the bye, Manning posted 262 passing yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions in the three games that followed.  That brings us up to Week 15 where Manning, once again, failed to deliver for fantasy owners as well as his own team in an embarassing 34-0 loss to the Falcons.  Despite his dud last week, Manning has a favorable matchup against the Ravens who are 22nd against the pass, allowing 242 pass yards per game.  Plus, the Giants NEED a win.  - Ryan Fowler

Hey, did you see the Saints' defense shutout the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15?  Cool!  Forget it ever happened.  Prior to their league-worst defense's best effort of the season, the Saints had allowed 35.3 points per game over their previous three games - all losses.  For all the grief Tony Romo receives, the Cowboys' quarterback has performed well for fantasy owners the second half of the season.  Over his last seven games, Romo has thrown 13 touchdowns with only three interceptions.  He's passed for over 260 yards in six out of those seven contests.  - Ryan Fowler
