Week 7 examples included quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Jason Campbell; running backs Ricky Williams, Chris Wells and Laurence Maroney; wide receivers Austin Miles, Sidney Rice, Hakeem Nicks and Lee Evans; and tight ends Vernon Davis and Tony Scheffler .

Review these top 10 sleepers to help score a Week 8 victory and move closer to clinching a berth for the fantasy playoffs.

10. Michael Crabtree, WR, San Francisco

Indianapolis is the No. 2 scoring offense, so its next opponent San Francisco will likely need to keep pace with the high-scoring Colts. Crabtree had a strong NFL debut by catching five passes for 56 yards last game, and is already considered the 49ers' top wide receiver. New starting quarterback Alex Smith will be looking for him frequently downfield to help produce big plays in the passing attack.

9. Kevin Boss, TE, New York Giants

Boss is the Giants' leading tight end, and posted his best game in the opener with 62 yards. Philadelphia has been vulnerable to solid fantasy days by tight ends for the past few games. Fred Davis caught eight receptions for 78 yards and one touchdown last game; Zach Miller had six receptions for 139 yards and one score in Week 6; and Kellen Winslow caught nine passes for 102 yards and two scores in Week 5. Also look for rookie tight end Travis Beckum to contribute as well.

8. Donnie Avery, WR, St. Louis

Detroit rates as the NFL's third-worst passing defense and has yielded the second-most passing scores (17). Avery is the Rams' leading receiver for receptions (21), yards (271) and touchdowns (2). He posted his best fantasy game of the season against Minnesota in Week 5 by catching five passes for 87 yards and one score.

7. Kevin Walter, WR, Houston

Andre Johnson may be limited Sunday by his chest injury, and second wideout Walter could be featured more as a result. Though Buffalo's pass defense has been tough this season, its next foe Houston ranks as the NFL's third-best passing offense.

6. Devin Hester, WR, Chicago

Cleveland ranks as the ninth-worst pass defense. It's already allowed big scoring plays to wide receiver Derrick Mason (72 yards), Hines Ward (52 yards) and Donald Driver (71 yards) in recent games. Hester is a big-play receiver with his great speed, and is able to utilize Jay Cutler's strong arm. He's already scored on two big plays of 36 yards. He posted his best game of the season last game by catching eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.

5. LeSean McCoy, RB, Philadelphia

Brian Westbrook may be unable to play Sunday with a concussion, likely leaving McCoy as Philly's featured back against the New York Giants. The rookie already substituted for Westbrook in Week 3, and totaled 93 yards and one touchdown against Kansas City. The Giants allowed another rookie, Arizona's Chris Wells, to total 77 yards and a touchdown last game.

4. Ricky Williams, RB, Miami

The Jets lost run-stuffer Kris Jenkins for the season, leaving a gaping hole in the middle to fill. With Jenkins playing in Week 5, Williams still totaled 138 yards. Without facing him in the second meeting, Williams will be aiming for his third straight game with at least 90 yards and his fifth contest with a score this season.

3. Kevin Smith, RB, Detroit

He was drafted as high as the second round in one experts league that I participated, but has underperformed so far. He'll be aiming for his second 100-yard rushing game and will be looking to score in his third contest this season. This is as good as any game to start him. St. Louis ranks as the league's sixth-worst rushing defense and has yielded the most rushing scores (11).

2. Tony Scheffler, TE, Denver

Scheffler posted his best game of the season last week against San Diego, catching six passes for 101 yards and one score. Baltimore recently showed that it's vulnerable to a big game by a tight end. Visanthe Shiancoe had four receptions for 48 yards and two scores last game. Antonio Gates also had five receptions for 78 yards in Week 2, and Sean Ryan scored in the opener.

1. Darren Sproles, RB, San Diego

Oakland ranks as the NFL's third-worst run defense and has allowed the most rushing scores (11). Last game's No. 2 back against Oakland, Jets rookie Shonn Greene, ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Sproles, who is the backup to LaDainian Tomlinson, also totaled 99 yards and a touchdown in a lopsided win against Kansas City's questionable run defense last game. Look for him to continue to be featured if San Diego can jump out to a big lead. Boosting his fantasy scoring potential, Sproles also returns kickoff and punts.
