Week 16 pro football survivor picks
Survive and advance is a popular sports mantra normally saved for the month of March and the madness that comes with it.
But thanks to the rapid growth of the NFL and fantasy football, games like FOX Fantasy Survivor can feed your craving for “win or go home” competition seven months early.
Thousands of football fans signed up and participated in the FOX Fantasy Survivor game last season. The hope is, with cash prizes on the line, we can eclipse that mark in 2012.
The premise is simple: pick one (1) team who you believe is going to win that week. The survivor catch remains that once you pick a team to win, you can’t pick that team again for the rest of the season. The good news is, even if you lose, you are still eligible to win cash prizes.
To assist you with your survivor selections, the FOXSports.com’s fantasy football staff will provide you their picks for the week.
Just remember the mantra: survive and advance. In a month, you could be $2,000 richer.
Week 15 Recap
Fowler - Rams (Strike 1)
Beall - Buccaneers (Strike 2)
Halpin - Browns (Strike 3 - OUT!)
Harmon - Dolphins (Homerun down 12-2 in the 9th)
Week 15 didn't treat the Buccs, Giants or FOX Sports fantasy department kindly.
Week 16 Picks
Fowler and Beall - Colts over Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have scored just seven points in the last eight quarters. Brady Quinn may miss this game due to an injury, while third-string quarterback Ricky Stanzi could be in line for the start. Indianapolis still has a ton to play for as they have yet to clinch a playoff berth. The Colts hung with the Houston Texans for three quarters in Week 16 before falling by 12 points. Andrew Luck now has a viable option in Vick Ballard running the ball that could open some play-action doors for the rookie quarterback to target Wayne, Avery and Hilton.
Halpin - Patriots over Jaguars
How does Halpin still have New England available in Week 16? Shouldn't he have gone down with the ship in Week 2 when the Pats lost to the Cardinals like the rest of us?
Harmon - Panthers over Raiders
Cam Newton has this offense clicking on all cyclinders with 61 points scored in their last two games combined. Before the Oakland Janikowski's booted five field goals en route to a 15-0 win over Kansas City, the Raiders had lost six straight games.
