Patriots at Colts

Time: 8:20 PM ET

COLTS (10-0-0)

PATRIOTS (7-3-0)

  Peyton Manning

QB
Is there any other player in the league more automatic than Manning? The man has 16 TDs through eight games, including seven 300-yard efforts thrown in. Only once has he failed to throw a TD, and he went for 347 yards that day. He's a lock, regardless of opponent.

  Tom Brady

QB
I don't care who he's playing against on a weekly basis, Brady needs to be started. The weapons he has at his disposal are better than anyone else's in football. He'll throw it 40-50 times a game and is bound to find the end zone here and there because of it. The 16 TDs he has proves that point.

  Joseph Addai

RB
He still hasn't had more than 64 yards rushing in a game all season, yet he's managed to score seven times in eight games, including twice last week alone. Despite the lack of yards, touchdowns still mean a lot in this game, which means he needs to be played.

  Laurence Maroney

RB
He had 20 carries last week, which is huge for a Patriot. In fact, it hadn't been done in so long, you wouldn't believe it. So, if there were any week in which you'd ever play him again, this would probably be it. Ride a hot hand until it bites you, I always say.

  Chad Simpson

RB
Chad Simpson? Yeah, I don't know who this guy is, either. With Donald Brown likely out this week, Simpson steps in as the No. 2 back, but his fantasy value is obviously very low. Leave him alone.

  Kevin Faulk

RB
The team's third down back gets the occasional carry, but it's the 4-8 receptions he gets every week which makes all the difference. He's still just a PPR leaguer only, though.

  Reggie Wayne

WR
His quarterback's the best in the game, and he's the guy's No. 1 option. I'd say starting him is a foregone conclusion, which it is. Keep him in your lineup and watch the points collect.

  Wes Welker

WR
He's probably gonna lead the NFL in receptions again this season, which goes a long way in fantasy circles. He's a PPR hero, and he's an automatic starter in all other types of leagues as well. Keep him locked in for sure.

  Austin Collie

WR
I don't know how he's gonna be able to respond after last week's injury scare. he says he's fine, but that's to be determined. This would be a tough spot in which to play him because of that.

  Sam Aiken

WR
He's had one big play this season, which is what you'd expect out of New England's No. 3 receiver. I say it needs to be more than that, personally. Until he can get some more important touches, he's waiver wire fodder only.

  Pierre Garcon

WR
Austin Collie's neck injury last week could mean Garcon gets more looks than normal on Sunday. He's already caught 12 passes the last three weeks. Look for that total to grow after pulling five last week alone.

  Randy Moss

WR
I don't care who else you put in front of me - for my money, Moss is still the premier deep threat in the game today. He's had 116 yards or more in four games this year and has scored five times. With that kind of explosiveness, it's impossible to leave him on the sideline.

  Dallas Clark

TE
Right now, you could make an argument that Clark is the No. 1 tight end in football, and the numbers certainly back it up. He leads all tight ends in receptions by a large margin, and the touchdown totals are solid as well. He's an easy start.

  Benjamin Watson

TE
He hasn't had more than 51 yards in a game wince Week 1, and he's had only two touchdowns since then as well. He's certainly not a top notch tight end right now, but he's still servicable. If you have another option, though, I'd probably go with it.

  Matt Stover

K
Don't know how Stover backed into this sweet gig, but he's lovin' life right now because of it. As long as he's the kicker for the Colts, I'm going to be playing him. You should be too.

  Stephen Gostkowski

He keeps putting the ball through the upright for the Pats, which continues to be one of the highest scoring teams in the league. It's hard not to start someone like that.

I'll say pretty much the same thing I said about the Pats right here. I would normally be excited about playing the Colts defense, but when you're going up against Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots offense, I'm going to back away. Find some other team to start for just this weekend.

Normally, I'd be all over the Pats defense, and I usually am. However, they just happen to be playing against the 8-0 Colts and their MVP candidate, Peyton Manning. Any team playing against Manning right now is a poor play in my book.
