Jaguars at Jets

Time: 1:00 PM ET   Location: Giants Stadium - East Rutherford, NJ

JETS (4-6-0)

JAGUARS (6-4-0)

  Mark Sanchez

QB
The recent string of turnovers are obviously a problem, and one that owners have to take seriously. I've seen him dumped to the waiver wire in many leagues lately. I don't think he deserves that, but I won't play him until he shows he can overcome this down point in his rookie season.

  David Garrard

QB
One touchdown pass in four games, huh? And that was against defenses of such powerhouses as Kansas City, St. Louis, Tennessee and Seattle. Yeah, this doesn't add up well going on the road to face the Jets.

  Thomas Jones

RB
The running game is going to be taking centerstage in the next few weeks as the team tries to overcome their rookie QB's turnover issues. Therefore, Jones is going to see a bunch of carries. He becomes a low-end RB1 this week because of it.

  Maurice Jones-Drew

The man has 407 yards and six touchdowns the last three games. How could you ever keep this guy out of a game at this point? He's officially the hottest runner in the league right now.

Yet another rookie is in the Jets' backfield every week, and this guy's shown he can get things done when called upon. Look for him to get a nice handful of carries on Sunday. He's worth a deep league Flex play.

MJD's backup may as well stay at home since he won't be getting hardly any carries this week in New York. He should be pleased I took the time out of my day to write about him, though!

  Jerricho Cotchery

WR
Officially, Cotchery's still the No. 1 receiver in town, but that hasn't mattered much of late. He'd caught just one ball for four yards in the three games before their most recent tilt against Miami, where he went for 70 yards. That's still not enough for me to plug him into my starting lineup.

  Mike Sims-Walker

WR
There really is no passing game in Jacksonville other than the balls that go Sims-Walker's way. He continues to put up 100-yard days, while the rest of the receivers toil in the teens. He needs to be started this week for sure.

  David Clowney

WR
He's played in eight games, but has caught passes in just three of them. Even though his best game came in his last one, that just doesn't work for me in the grand scheme of things.

  Mike Thomas

WR
The team likes Thomas and sees him being a long-term solution in the passing game. But that's not gonna happen this year, as this is a running team first. Leave him in the back of your mind for next season.

  Braylon Edwards

WR
Braylon also had a decent game against the Dolphins two weeks ago, but how consistently can he do that? He's still caught just 13 passes in his four games with the Jets, which isn't all that much. Sure, they've gone for two TDs, but I'm still skeptical.

  Torry Holt

WR
As soon as Mike Sims-Walker overtook Holt early in the season, Holt immediately became unusable in fantasy leagues. Sadly, he's remained that way ever since.

  Dustin Keller

TE
If there's anyone I'd feel good about playing in the passing game, it's Keller, who had eight grabs for 76 yards and a score in the tough loss to Miami. He's become Sanchez's No. 1 target all of a sudden.

The big guy should be better than he is, there's no doubt about that. His size and athletic ability make him an ideal tight end speciman, but he's not getting the yards he should be. Damn shame.

Feely's been a solid fantasy kicker for years now, regardless of what team he's played on. Look for him to get a lot of opportunities this week at home against the Jags.

Scobee's always been a solid fantasy kicker, and this week he'll be just as good. He's an easy start, as he has been for the last several years now.

D/ST
I know this defense hasn't been all that impressive of late, and much of that has to do with the loss of nose tackle Kris Jenkins. They'll also have to go against the incredible running talents of Maurice Jones-Drew this week. That scares me a bit, but overall this unit is strong enough to get a couple turnovers. Not an easy play, but I still like 'em, especially after a bye week.

The Jags' defense has been one of the bigger disappointments of the year, and even though Mark Sanchez is throwing interceptions like they're going out of style, this is still an impossible start.
