Falcons at Panthers

Time: 1:00 PM ET   TV: FOX Location: Ericsson Stadium - Charlotte, NC

PANTHERS (4-6-0)

FALCONS (5-5-0)

  Jake Delhomme

QB
Sure, he didn't throw an interception last week, which was great. However, the team still committed three turnovers on fumbles, and his yardage just barely hit 200 yards and he went without a touchdown yet again. He can't be started in any league at this point.

  Matt Ryan

QB
He had multiple TDs in five of his first six games, but has now had his interceptions outnumber the scores over the past four weeks (6 vs. 8). This is a good matchup for him, though, as the Panthers tend to give up big yards in the passing game.

  DeAngelo Williams

RB
He's been absolutely dominant lately, and he's proven last year was no fluke. His resurgence is the main reason the Panthers have won three of their last five games and gave the Saints all they were worth last week. He needs to be started in every league.

  Michael Turner

RB
He's one of the hotter runners in the league right now, having just come off two straight 150-yard games. He's an automatic weekly starter at this point, but something tells me you knew that already. Please tell me you knew that already.

  Jonathan Stewart

RB
He gave way to Williams last week, but Stewart's still a solid RB3 or Flex play each week thanks to his prowess around the end zone. This looks to be a good position for him this weekend.

  Jason Snelling

RB
With Jerious Norwood continually in and out of the lineup, Snelling's taken over as the team's No. 2 back. He has his moments, but this is still Turner's team, so Snelling's carries will be few and far between.

  Steve Smith

WR
The team's unquestioned No. 1 receiver has been trying the best he can to get more involved, but it hasn't manifested into too many big yards this season. He's a Flex play at best and may even have to be benched depending on how shallow your league is.

I don't care if Roddy White's out injured any particular week or not. I still wouldn't start Jenkins. His window for fantasy success has long since passed. No thank you.

  Muhsin Muhammad

He didn't play last week and isn't a fantasy play even when he does. I love the guy, and he gets 4-8 looks a game still, but he isn't an option anymore.

  Roddy White

WR
There was a time where people thought he wasn't going to play last week, but he eventually did. He didn't do much, but he's always done well against the Panthers, so I'd say you have to plug him back into the lineup this week, despite putting up just 27 yards in a somewhat limited role against the Redskins.

  Dwayne Jarrett

WR
He had several balls come his way last week, including some important third down plays. He still hasn't reached a consistent enough level to be played in fantasy leagues, but he's definitely winning over the coaching staff a little more than before.

  Marty Booker

WR
I almost forgot Booker was still in the league to be honest with you. But alas, here he is, in Atlanta. Unfortunately for him, fantasy owners shouldn't care if he's playing or not, as he remains unplayable.

  Gary Barnidge

TE
He's the third receiver for the Panthers I've written about this season, and not a one of them is fantasy worthy enough to get me to grab them off a waiver wire at any point. Leave him alone, just as you did Dante Rosario and Jeff King.

  Tony Gonzalez

TE
He's only once gone over 75 yards in a game this year, but he's also had less than four receptions just once as well, and he's scored four times, including once last week against Washington. He needs to be played in all formats.

  John Kasay

K
After missing three straight field goals at one point, Kasay's now had two successful attempts in each of the last two weeks. It's given him an average of nine points in those two and suddenly puts his name back in people's minds when choosing their guy.

Just seven field goals in eight games is about as bad as you can get as far as kickers go. I wouldn't wanna be playing a guy who averages no more than 4-5 points a game. I'll pass, thank you.

  Panthers

This unit has actually started to get things going recently, scoring defensive touchdowns, intercepting passes and sacking quarterbacks en masse. They've turned themselves into a force again.

This isn't the best unit in the league, but when you play the Panthers, you always have a chance to pick up 2-3 turnovers through no effort of your own. This suddenly looks like a decent spot play.
