Fantasy fallout: Brady, Moss and Owens star
What do these events and others mean for your fantasy team? Review the analysis of every NFL game in Week 11.
Denver 34, Tennessee 20
• If Travis Henry becomes suspended for violating the NFL's drug policy, expect rookie Andre Hall to take an expanded role rather than being solely a backup. Hall looked like a well-rested player who had only eight carries entering the game when he exploded for a 62-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter on his first carry of the game. He took advantage of a Tennessee defense that was missing run-stuffer Albert Haynesworth. Hall ran for 17 yards on his next six handoffs, finishing with 89 rushing yards.
• Selvin Young had a marginal fantasy outing when he totaled 63 yards; he ran for 54 yards on 14 carries for an adequate 3.9 average and gained nine yards on two receptions. Coach Mike Shanahan may be forced to platoon both Young and Hall since neither has proven to handle the featured back role without injury at this level. If Henry avoids a suspension and returns from his knee injury successfully, expect him to remain Denver's featured back.
• Brandon Stokley led the Broncos with a season-high 75 yards on three receptions. He also caught his third touchdown in the last five games and has totaled four scores this season. He had scored just one touchdown in each of the last two seasons with Indianapolis.
• Brandon Marshall snapped a five-game scoreless streak by scoring his third touchdown of the season. He finished with 56 yards on four receptions.
• Tony Scheffler posted a mediocre fantasy day by catching three passes for 38 yards, while Daniel Graham caught two passes for 20 yards.
• Jay Cutler threw for multiple scores for just the second time in 10 contests this season. Incidentally, he also posted his other game with multiple passing scores on Monday night, throwing for three against Pittsburgh. He finished with 200 yards and two scores. He'll have a solid chance to make it a third time with multiple scores against Chicago's inconsistent pass defense next game.
• Denver's fantasy defense posted a solid game, acquiring one sack, forcing three turnovers (two interceptions, one fumble) and scoring a touchdown from an 80-yard punt return.
• Vince Young threw for his first career 300-yard game despite numerous drops by his receivers. He completed 26-of-41 passes and threw for 305 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. That was just his fifth touchdown pass of the season.
• Though Young threw for two interceptions for the third straight game, he ran for a season-high 74 yards and registered his third rushing score of the season. He's a strong sleeper against Cincinnati's seventh-worst pass defense that has allowed the NFL's second-most passing scores (22) this season.
• Lendale White disappointed for the second straight game, rushing for only 42 yards after he posted a lowly 12 yards in Week 10. He averaged just 3.2 yards on 13 handoffs against Denver's third-worst run defense (entering the game).
• Chris Brown posted the best fantasy outing of Tennessee's trio of backs, totaling 75 yards. Brown caught four passes for 61 yards and ran for 14 yards on three receptions. Rookie Chris Henry only added four rushing yards.
• Justin Gage led the Titans in receiving for the second straight game by catching six passes for 66 yards. Brandon Jones scored his second touchdown of the season, finishing with three receptions for 25 yards.
• Bo Scaife posted a respectable fantasy day for a tight end, catching four passes for 49 yards.
• Rob Bironas made 2-of-2 field goals for the fourth straight game after he connected for an NFL-record eight field goals in Week 7. Bironas was successful on kicks of 56 and 37 yards. That was his third 50-yarder of the season.
New England 56, Buffalo 10
• Tom Brady threw for five touchdowns for the second time this season, giving him 38 touchdown passes in just 10 games. That projects to a record 61 touchdown passes! He also threw for 373 yards, marking the fifth time that he's reached 300 passing yards this year. He's now thrown for 3,059 yards, projecting to a total of 4,894 yards! That would be the NFL's second-highest mark ever, bypassing 4,830 yards set by Kurt Warner in 2001 and 4,802 yards set by Dan Fouts in 1981. Dan Marino holds the season record of 5,084 in 1984.
• Of note, the NFL record for touchdown passes in a game is seven, held by five quarterbacks with the most recent produced by Minnesota's Joe Kapp in 1969. In addition, Dan Marino and Peyton Manning hold the NFL record for most games (6) with four or more touchdown passes. Brady has compiled four such contests after Sunday night's game.
• Randy Moss caught a season-high 10 passes for 128 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. He's now registered a 100-yard receiving day in seven of 10 contests this season. He's also scored in nine of 10 contests as well. Moss has totaled 66 catches for 1,052 yards and 16 touchdowns. He's only one shy of his career high of 17 set with Minnesota in 1998 and 2003. So Moss already holds the NFL record for the third-most touchdowns in a season.
• Moss is projected to post 106 receptions for 1,683 yards and 26 touchdowns. Currently, Jerry Rice holds the record set in 1995 for most receiving yards in a season with 1,848 yards. Michael Irvin holds the record set in 1995 for most games (11) of 100 or more yards in a season. Moss has seven with six games remaining. In addition, Jerry Rice holds the record for most touchdowns (22) in a season. If the season totals extrapolated for both Moss and Terrell Owens, Moss would hold the NFL record with 26 and Owens would hold the mark for the third-most with 19.
• Wes Welker finished with seven catches for 78 yards to post a solid fantasy day, while Donte' Stallworth caught five passes for 56 yards.
• Ben Watson caught his sixth touchdown pass of the season, finishing with three receptions for 43 yards.
• Laurence Maroney scored his first touchdown of the season, but he finished with a season-low 19 yards. Kevin Faulk caught just two passes for 18 yards before being knocked out of the game.
• In replacing Faulk, rookie Kyle Eckel fared better by rushing for 40 yards and his second career touchdown. Heath Evans finished with 56 rushing yards on 10 handoffs, the same number given to Eckel. Both are waiver-wire candidates to claim if Faulk misses any games.
• New England's fantasy defense dominated, allowing only 10 points, acquiring four sacks, forcing two turnovers and scoring on a fumble return.
• Buffalo's J.P. Losman threw for just 173 yards and one touchdown with an interception. He'll likely have a tough time with Jacksonville next game, too.
• Marshawn Lynch missed his first game of the season with a sprained ankle. Anthony Thomas replaced Lynch, but he was ineffective. He ran for just 31 yards on 11 carries for a paltry 2.8 average. He also added 15 receiving yards on three receptions.
• Backups Dwayne Wright had just one yard on one carry, and caught only one pass for five yards. However, he lost a fumble on that reception. Fred Jackson had 15 yards on three carries, and had nine receiving yards on two receptions.
• Roscoe Parrish led the Bills with 47 receiving yards, all gained on a touchdown catch. It was his first of the season.
• Lee Evans finished with just four catches for 40 yards.
Dallas 28, Washington 23
• Tony Romo threw for four touchdowns for the second straight game and for the third time this season. He's now passed for 27 touchdowns in 10 games, putting him on pace to pass for 43 touchdowns. He threw for 19 last year. He also passed for 293 yards, marking the seventh time that he's reached 250 yards this season. He's an excellent start against the Jets' inconsistent pass defense next game.
• Terrell Owens was superb against Washington's struggling pass defense, catching eight passes for 173 yards and four touchdowns. He also registered his fourth straight 100-yard receiving day and scored in his fifth straight contest. He has totaled 37 catches , 641 yards and nine touchdowns in his last five games. He's now totaled 58 receptions for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns, putting him on pace to produce 93 receptions for career-bests of 1,645 yards and 19 touchdowns.
• Tight end Jason Witten posted a solid fantasy day by catching eight passes for 67 yards. However, Patrick Crayton disappointed with just two receptions for 16 yards.
• Marion Barber ran for just 43 yards on 15 handoffs, averaging a lowly 2.9 average. Julius Jones rushed for just 27 yards on nine carries to post a paltry 3.0 average.
• Santana Moss, who missed last game with a heel injury, finally posted his first excellent fantasy day by catching season highs of nine passes for 121 yards. He also scored his first touchdown of the season, a disappointing total after catching six last year and nine in 2005. He faces Tampa Bay's stingy defense next game, though, so his prospects aren't strong to post consecutive strong fantasy outputs.
• Chris Cooley equaled last year's scoring total by registering his sixth touchdown of the season. He finished with eight catches for 89 yards.
• Keenan McCardell also posted a solid fantasy game, catching five passes for 76 yards, while Antwaan Randle El produced five receptions for 76 yards.
• Jason Campbell threw for his first 300-yard game of his career and had just his third game with multiple passing scores in 10 contests this season. He finished with 348 yards and two touchdowns with just one interception.
• Clinton Portis ran for just 36 yards on 12 handoffs to average a paltry 3.0 average, and added only nine receiving yards on two receptions. His poor fantasy outing snapped his streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
Seattle 30, Chicago 23
• Matt Hasselbeck threw for two touchdowns for the fifth straight game and reached 300 passing yards for the third time this season. He finished with his season's second-highest passing total of 337 yards.
• Maurice Morris totaled 106 yards and a score to register his second straight game with at least 100 combined yards and a touchdown. Of note, he ran for 87 yards and a score for the second straight contest, and had one reception for 19 yards. He'll have a strong chance to duplicate his third-straight game with at least 100 total yards and a score against St. Louis' shaky defense next contest. Of course, if Shaun Alexander returns and takes away touches, that will be hard to achieve. Still, Morris remains the best fantasy option until Alexander resumes his role as Seattle's featured back and is healthy.
• D.J. Hackett posted his second straight game with at least 100 receiving yards and a score. He also extended his scoring streak to three games since he returned from a six-game layoff with an ankle injury. He finished with season highs of nine receptions for 136 yards and a score.
• Bobby Engram posted a respectable fantasy day by catching eight passes for 84 yards, and Nate Burleson caught his fourth touchdown pass of the season. However, Burleson finished with just one reception for four yards.
• Cedric Benson broke free for an impressive 43-yard run on Chicago's first possession. That was his fourth score of the season. However, he received just 10 more carries and finished with 89 yards to post a sterling 8.1 average. He'll have a chance to post a strong fantasy day against Denver's second-worst ranked run defense next game.
• Adrian Peterson also scored, registering his first touchdown of the season on a 5-yard run. He finished with just 11 rushing yards, along with five receiving yards on one reception.
• Bernard Berrian posted his first 100-yard receiving day, and caught a season-high nine passes for 102 yards. Muhsin Muhammad caught only three passes, though he compiled 71 receiving yards.
• Greg Olsen caught an impressive seven receptions for 43 yards, while Desmond Clark finished with just one catch for seven yards. For now, Olsen is the better fantasy start than Clark.
• Rex Grossman threw zero interceptions, but he lost a crucial fourth-quarter fumble. He finished with 266 passing yards with zero touchdowns. He won't be worth starting against Denver's stingy pass defense next game.
St. Louis 13, San Francisco 9
• Steven Jackson clinched his second straight game with at least 100 total yards and his third of the season. He also scored in his third straight contest, regaining some of the form that made him one of fantasy's top backs last year. He ran for 92 yards on 23 carries for a solid 4.0 average, and caught four passes for 20 yards to finish with 112 total yards.
• Marc Bulger posted a poor fantasy outing by failing to throw for multiple scores for the seventh time in eight games played this season. He also passed for just 151 yards, marking the fourth time that he's failed to reach 200 passing yards this season.
• Torry Holt's consecutive streak of 100-yard receiving games was snapped, but he scored his fifth touchdown of the season. He finished with seven catches for 55 yards, giving him 29 receptions in the last four contests.
• Isaac Bruce added five receptions for 54 yards, but he remains a weak fantasy start after registering only one 100-yard receiving day and one touchdown this season.
• Frank Gore totaled only 63 yards and no longer is a weekly start considering his poor output against St. Louis' inconsistent run defense. This marked the sixth game that he's failed to reach 100 total yards in nine games played. He also has a current seven-game scoreless streak, failing to register a touchdown since Week 2 when he scored twice against the Rams. Gore ran for just 32 yards on 15 carries for a woeful 2.1 average, and he had just 31 receiving yards on five receptions.
• Arnaz Battle posted a respectable fantasy outing by catching six passes for 86 yards. He's become a deep sleeper as a fourth wideout for fantasy squads. Battle caught four passes for 78 yards last game and has emerged as San Francisco's top wideout.
• Vernon Davis rebounded with four receptions for 50 yards after catching just one pass for four yards last game.
• Trent Dilfer failed to throw a touchdown pass, completing 20-of-42 passes for 231 yard with two interceptions. Along with Alex Smith, he remains waiver-wire fodder until more progress is shown in the passing game.
New York Jets 19, Pittsburgh 16
• Kellen Clemens may have posted mediocre fantasy stats of 162 passing yards, one score and an interception, but he showed the potential to be a strong fantasy quarterback as early as this season against favorable pass defenses. He made excellent throws and avoided potential turnovers under great duress. His best efforts will likely come against Miami in Week 13 and Cleveland in Week 14.
• After failing to rush for 100 yards in seven of the first nine contests, Thomas Jones surprisingly ran for his third 100-yard game against Pittsburgh's No. 1 run defense. He finished with 117 yards on a season-high 30 carries, though he still has yet to score this year.
• Laveranues Coles caught only one pass for 56 yards, while tight end Chris Baker scored his third touchdown of the season.
• Willie Parker flopped by running for just 52 yards, marking only the second time that he's failed to total at least 100 yards and the fourth time that he's missed reaching 100 rushing yards in 10 contests this season. Parker finished with just a 2.5 average on 21 carries.
• Najeh Davenport posted a better fantasy outing than Parker, totaling 61 yards by rushing for 39 yards and gaining 22 yards on four receptions. Davenport averaged a robust 4.9 yards on eight handoffs.
• Santonio Holmes led the Steelers with five catches for 75 yards and scored his seventh touchdown of the season. Hines Ward, though, disappointed by catching just two passes for 47 yards, while Nate Washington went catchless.
• Heath Miller had just two receptions for 36 yards, while Matt Spaeth caught only one pass for six yards.
• Ben Roethlisberger disappointed by throwing for only 193 yards, one score and one interception against the Jets' ninth-worst pass defense. It was just his fourth game that he failed to throw for multiple passing scores.
Houston 23, New Orleans 10
• Andre Johnson had a rousing return after a seven-game layoff, catching six passes for 120 yards and one score. Johnson has reached 100 receiving yards and scored at least once in all three games played. He's averaged 6.7 receptions, 127 yards and 1.3 touchdowns in those three games, totaling 20 receptions, 382 yards and four scores. He'll have a chance to duplicate those averages against Cleveland's second-worst pass defense next game.
• Matt Schaub, who passed for 293 yards, threw for just his second multiple-touchdown game of the season. He'll have a strong opportunity to make it four at Cleveland next game.
• Owen Daniels was Houston's second-most productive receiver, catching five passes for 74 yards. Tight end Joel Dreessen scored his second touchdown of the season on a 2-yard reception.
• Kevin Walter disappointed by catching only three passes for 33 yards, while Andre' Davis had just two receptions for 30 yards.
• Ron Dayne posted his second straight game with at least 100 total yards, combining for 105 yards. He ran for 89 yards and gained 26 receiving yards on three receptions.
• Drew Brees, who passed for 290 yards, disappointed by throwing for just one score, marking the fifth game that he's failed to pass for multiple scores and snapping a five-game streak with multiple scores. Brees had thrown for 13 scores in the previous five contests.
• Reggie Bush totaled 104 yards to register his fifth game with at least 100 total yards. Consistency is the hallmark of an excellent fantasy back, and Bush has posted seven straight games with either totaling at least 100 yards or a score. He ran for 34 yards on 15 carries to average a lowly 2.3 average. But he caught a season-high 12 passes for 70 yards.
• Marques Colston clinched his third straight game with at least 100 yards by catching nine passes for 118 yards. He's now caught 35 passes in the past four contests.
• David Patten disappointed by catching only two passes for 29 yards, and Devery Henderson added just his second score of the season after scoring six last year. He finished with just one reception for six yards.
Green Bay 31, Carolina 17
• Brett Favre threw for three scores for the fourth time and passed for multiple scores for the seventh time this season. His 218 yards marked only the fourth time that he missed reaching 300 yards this season.
• Despite failing to rush for 100 yards after accomplishing that in two of the previous three contests, Ryan Grant managed to combine for 90 yards. He ran for 88 yards and gained two receiving yards on one reception.
• Donald Lee scored twice to give him three touchdowns in the last two games and four scores for the season.
• Donald Driver led the Packers with 83 receiving yards on five receptions, while Greg Jennings posted the best fantasy day of Green Bay's wideouts. Jennings caught a team-high seven receptions for 48 yards and a score. It was his team-leading seventh touchdown of the season.
• James Jones disappointed by gaining just 25 yards on three receptions. He's now caught three passes in each of his last four games.
• Green Bay's fantasy defense posted a solid day by acquiring two sacks, forcing three turnovers (two interceptions, one fumble) and scoring a touchdown on a punt return.
• Drew Carter, who benefited from the absence of injured Steve Smith (shin), fulfilled his sleeper status by catching season highs of four receptions and 132 yards. He also scored his fourth touchdown of the season.
• Keary Colbert registered a team-high six receptions for 33 yards, and rookie Dwayne Jarrett had season-highs of three receptions for 39 yards.
• Vinny Testaverde had a surprising solid fantasy day, throwing for 258 yards and two scores, albeit he threw two picks. He doubled his season total of one, giving him three for the season to tie David Carr. Jake Delhomme still leads the Panthers with eight touchdowns despite playing in only three contests.
Arizona 35, Cincinnati 27
• Kurt Warner, who had 211 passing yards, threw for multiple scores for the third time in his last four contests. He's now thrown seven touchdowns in the last four games. He also threw for zero picks to snap a three-game streak where he totaled five interceptions. He faces favorable pass defenses in the next two games against San Francisco and Cleveland at home.
• Edgerrin James ran for a disappointing 52 yards against Cincy's sixth-worst run defense. He's failed to rush for 100 yard in nine of 10 games. However, he scored his sixth touchdown of the season to match last year's total. He finished with 59 total yards after catching one pass for nine yards.
• Both Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin showed why they remain weekly starts. Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 93 yards and a score, and Boldin finished with four receptions for 71 yards and a score. That was Fitzgerald's fourth score of the season and Boldin's sixth of the year.
• Arizona's fantasy defense was brilliant, acquiring one sack, forcing five turnovers (four interceptions, one fumble) and scoring twice on interception returns by cornerback Antrel Rolle.
• Kenny Watson remains the better fantasy start than Rudi Johnson. Watson totaled 95 yards compared to Johnson's measly total of 27 yards. Watson was more effective runner as well, rushing for 45 yards on nine handoffs for a sterling 5.0 average. Johnson ran for just 25 yards on eight carries for a lowly 3.1 average. Watson also added 50 receiving yards on eight receptions.
• Four wideouts caught eight passes each, including T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Chad Johnson and Chris Henry. Houshmandzadeh led the Bengals with 87 yards and a score, his 11th touchdown of the season. He's now scored in nine of 10 games this year. Johnson gained 86 yards, but he's gone scoreless in eight straight contests. Henry followed up his excellent season debut of four catches for 99 yards by gaining 81 yards and his first score of the season.
• Carson Palmer threw for multiple scores for the fifth time in 10 games and passed for at least 300 yards for the fourth time this year. He finished with 329 yards and two touchdowns. However, after his four interceptions Sunday, Palmer has now thrown for more picks (14) this season than he did in each of the last two seasons.
Indianapolis 13, Kansas City 10
• Peyton Manning posted another disappointing fantasy game, failing to throw for a touchdown for the first time this season. In addition, he also failed to throw for multiple scores for the fifth time in 10 contests this season. Manning also passed for just 163 yards, marking just the third time that he's missed reaching 250 yards and the second game that he's failed to reach 200 passing yards. He threw an interception as well, giving him seven interceptions with just two touchdown passes in the last two contests.
• One big reason that Manning was ineffective was the lack of healthy wideouts. He had three wideouts battling injuries: Marvin Harrison (inactive), Anthony Gonzalez and Aaron Moorehead.
• Reggie Wayne finished with a pedestrian 75 receiving yards on only four receptions. He had posted three 100-yard receiving days in the previous four contests.
• Marvin Harrison missed his fourth straight game, but no other wideout stepped up to replace him effectively. Craphonso Thorpe was the only wideout who caught a pass, and he had just one reception for six yards.
• Ben Utecht, not Dallas Clark, led Indy's tight ends in receiving. Utecht caught three passes for 26 yards compared to Clark's three catches for 15 yards. Tight end Bryan Fletcher was inactive.
• Joseph Addai registered his sixth game with at least 100 yards in nine contests this season. He also scored his 10th touchdown of the season. Addai ran for 72 yards and gained 34 yards on four receptions to total 106 yards.
• Dwayne Bowe continued to show why he's the top rookie receiver this season, catching seven passes for 64 yards and a score, including a nifty 19-yard touchdown grab. With strong-armed Brodie Croyle as his quarterback, Bowe is a weekly start.
• Priest Holmes flopped for the second straight week, ran for just 55 yards to post a lowly 2.9 average on 19 handoffs. Holmes also added just one catch for a yard.
• Kolby Smith fared little better in the ground game, rushing for just 17 yards on eight handoffs for a pitiful 2.1 average. He, however, added three receptions for 34 yards, indicating he may provide more fantasy value via receiving.
• Tony Gonzalez followed up a poor fantasy outing of three receptions for 29 yards with a pedestrian 46 yards on four catches.
• Adam Vinatieri unexpectedly posted a streak of four missed field goals in a row, missing from 49 yards and 38 yards after missing field goals of 42 and 29 yards against San Diego. Vinatieri rebounded, though, by making kicks of a 27-yarder and a game-winning 24-yarder.
Jacksonville 24, San Diego 17
• LaDainian Tomlinson posted just his fourth game with at least 100 total yards by combining for 155 yards. He ran for 62 yards and gained 93 receiving yards on five receptions. He also scored in his third straight game and his 10th touchdown of the season.
• Philip Rivers threw for his second 300-yard passing game (309) of the season, but he failed to throw for multiple scores for the sixth time this year. He finished with just one touchdown pass and threw two interceptions.
• Chris Chambers posted his highest yardage total with San Diego by catching four passes for 93 yards. Vincent Jackson continues to be a fantasy flop, catching just one pass for 20 yards.
• Antonio Gates rebounded from two poor fantasy outings where he combined for just four catches and 36 yards to register four catches for 54 yards and a score, his sixth of the season.
• David Garrard threw for multiple scores for just the second time this season. He'll have a strong chance to make it a third against Buffalo's shaky pass defense.
• After scoring his first touchdown of the season last game, Fred Taylor registered his second-highest rushing total of the season with 85 yards. He posted a respectable 4.3 yards on 20 handoffs.
• Maurice Jones-Drew totaled only 37 yards, but he scored his sixth touchdown of the season. He ran for 33 yards by averaging only 2.8 yards on 12 handoffs and gained just four yards on one reception.
• Reggie Williams scored his fifth touchdown of the season, finishing with two catches for 62 yards. Williams, though, continues to be hit-or-miss. In the four games that he failed to score, Williams caught two passes or less, and gained 17 yards or fewer.
• Tight end Marcedes Lewis scored his first touchdown of the season, equaling last year's total as rookie.
• Josh Scobee, who played in his first game since the opener, kicked a 48-yard field goal for his only attempt. He offers more range than veteran John Carney.
Cleveland 33, Baltimore 30
• Derek Anderson failed to throw for a touchdown pass for the second time in the last three contests, cooling off after he had thrown 17 touchdowns in the first seven games. That was his fourth game with one or fewer touchdown passes in 10 games this season. He also passed for 274 yards, marking just the fourth time that he's thrown for more than 250 yards. He did add his third rushing score of the season on a 1-yard run. However, he still has yet to achieve "Cannot bench" status in my book and can only win that designation with strong fantasy games against the best defenses.
• Braylon Edwards posted a respectable fantasy day by catching eight passes for 85 yards, while Joe Jurevicius had 82 yard on four receptions. Edwards, though, lost his second fumble of the season.
• Kellen Winslow posted a decent fantasy outing for a tight end, catching five passes for 64 yards.
• Jamal Lewis ran for a surprising 92 yards against Baltimore's No. 2 run defense. That was his second-highest rushing total of the season. He also registered his third game with at least 100 total yards by gaining 30 yards on four receptions, finishing with 122 yards. He scored his seventh touchdown of the season and is just two short of last year's total of nine.
• Cleveland's fantasy defense fared superbly, acquiring six sacks, forcing four turnovers (two interceptions, two fumbles) and scoring a touchdown on a 100-yard interception return.
• Willis McGahee ran for his third 100-yard game and clinched his seventh game with at least 100 total yards. He also scored in his fifth straight game and totaled his sixth touchdown. He finished with 102 rushing yards by averaging a robust 4.9 yards on 21 handoffs. He also added two receptions for 24 yards to total 126 yards.
• Kyle Boller threw for 279 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against Cleveland's second-worst pass defense. He also lost a fumble. Those were mediocre stats against a poor fantasy defense.
• Watch out for fourth-year wideout Devard Darling. The Ravens appeared to find a competent No. 3 wideout with Demetrius Williams inactive. Darling had career highs of four receptions for 107 yards and scored his first NFL touchdown on a 27-yard reception.
• Derrick Mason posted a respectable fantasy day by catching six passes for 83 yards. But Mark Clayton flopped by catching only two passes for a meager nine yards. He had caught eight passes for 107 yards last game.
• Tight end Quinn Sypniewski replaced an injured Todd Heap (hamstring) effectively, catching season highs of six passes for 53 yards.
• Baltimore's fantasy defense fared well, acquiring two sacks, two turnovers (one interception, one fumble) and scoring a touchdown on a 35-yard interception return.
• Matt Stover snapped a three-game streak with zero field goals by going 3-for-3 against Cleveland. He made kicks of 34, 41 and 47 yards.
• Phil Dawson made the game-tying and game-winning field goals to finish 4-of-5. He made kicks of 28, 39, 51 and 33 yards.
Minnesota 29, Oakland 20
• As expected, Chester Taylor wreaked havoc against Oakland's fourth-worst run defense, running for 164 yards and three scores. He also totaled 202 yards by gaining 38 receiving yards on three receptions. However, Taylor will have a tough test against the Giants next game.
• If Minnesota had kept Daunte Culpepper two years ago instead of using inexperienced Tavaris Jackson this season, its record would likely at least be reversed to a winning one of 6-4. Culpepper threw for 344 yards and one score with an interception. He also lost a fumble but showed more passing skills and game management than raw Jackson. Culpepper is worth claiming on the waiver wire for those teams desperate for a quarterback. But it seems likely that rookie JaMarcus Russell will see time at quarterback to gain experience and help the 2-8 Raiders build for next season.
• Jackson completed 17-of-22 passes but had zero touchdown throws with an interception that he threw in the end zone. He also lost a fumble and rarely completes passes downfield. Rookie wideout Sidney Rice looked like a more competent quarterback, completing 2-of-2 passes for 94 yards.
• Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe led the Vikings with 94 receiving yards on two receptions.
• After posting two straight games with at least 100 total yards, Justin Fargas combined for a respectable 89 yards against Minnesota's third-best run defense. Fargas ran for just 60 yards on 22 carries for a paltry 2.7 average, but caught three passes for 29 yards.
• Ronald Curry posted his second 100-yard receiving day of the season; he registered his first in the opener with season highs of 10 receptions for 133 yards. Curry finished with 120 yards on four receptions.
• Jerry Porter also posted a solid fantasy day, catching season highs of five passes and 88 yards.
• Tight end John Madsen scored his first touchdown of the season on a 10-yard reception, while Zach Miller finished with three catches for 33 yards.
• Sebastian Janikowski kicked 5-of-5 field goals, making kicks of 42, 30, 42, 49 and 52 yards.
• Oakland's fantasy defense dominated, acquiring three sacks and forcing five turnovers (one interception, four fumbles).
• Minnesota's fantasy defense posted a solid fantasy day by acquiring four sacks, forcing two turnovers (one interception, one fumble) and claiming a safety.
New York Giants 16, Detroit 10
• Indicating that he may be ill-equipped physically to handle the featured back role, Brandon Jacobs became injured again and left late in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. He had missed three straight games earlier in the season with a knee injury after being knocked out in the opener. Impressively, though, Jacobs had posted his fourth straight game with at least 100 total yards before leaving with his injury. He had combined for 103 yards by running for 54 yards and gaining 49 yards on four receptions. He also scored his third touchdown of the season on a 10-yard reception.
• Eli Manning passed for just one score against Detroit's third-worst pass defense. It marked the third straight game and the sixth contest in 10 games that he's thrown one or zero touchdown passes. However, he threw for 283 yards to achieve for just the third time of passing for at least 250 yards. He has an excellent chance to throw for 300 yards for just the second time this season against Minnesota's worst-ranked pass defense next game.
• After scoring in six straight games, Plaxico Burress failed to score for the fourth straight game. He gained just 47 yards on four receptions, marking the highest yardage output in this poor four-game stretch.
• Jeremy Shockey followed up his outstanding last game of 12 catches for 129 yards and a score with a disappointing fantasy day of five receptions for 41 yards.
• Jon Kitna threw for an impressive 377 yards for his second-highest total of the season, but he passed for just one score and had three interceptions. It marked the fifth game that he's thrown one or zero touchdowns in 10 games this season.
• Shaun McDonald, who has been an excellent fantasy sleeper this year, posted his first 100-yard receiving day of the season. He finished with 113 yards on seven receptions.
• Roy Williams posted just his third 100-yard receiving day by gaining 106 yards on six receptions.
• Rookie Calvin Johnson scored just his third receiving touchdown of the season, snapping a six-game receiving scoreless streak. He had scored in each of the first two games and also ran for a score in Week 7. He finished with just 45 yards on three receptions and has yet to post a 100-yard receiving day this season.
• Kevin Jones flopped by running for just 25 yards and gaining only 12 yards on three receptions. He will also have difficulty against Green Bay's strong run defense on Thanksgiving Day.
• Detroit's much-heralded fantasy defense had just two sacks and two turnovers, hardly numbers reminiscent of a dominant fantasy defense. Owners should temper expectations of this recently highly touted fantasy defense as it's entered the difficult part of the schedule. It isn't the best fantasy start against Green Bay on Thanksgiving, but it has a chance for a strong day at Minnesota in Week 13.
• The Giants' fantasy defense fared better, allowing 10 points, acquiring three sacks and forcing four turnovers (three interceptions, one fumble).
Philadelphia 17, Miami 7
• Though he was listed as questionable after failing to practice Thursday and Friday, Brian Westbrook ran for a career-high 158 yards against Miami's third-worst run defense. He's totaled at least 100 yards in eight of nine contests, and combined for 92 yards and two scores in his only game where he missed reaching the century mark. As a receiver, he also added just one catch for zero yards vs. Miami.
• After throwing for just 39 yards and two interceptions, Donovan McNabb was knocked out of the game in the second quarter with an ankle injury. If he plays next game, he will be a poor start against New England.
• Backup A.J. Feeley replaced McNabb and threw for just 116 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He remains waiver-wire fodder even if he starts next game against New England.
• Jason Avant caught his second touchdown pass of the season on a 4-yard reception from Feeley. That sets a career high for the second-year wideout from Michigan.
• Kevin Curtis led the Eagles with five catches for 69 yards to post a respectable fantasy outing. However, Reggie Brown caught just two passes for 18 yards.
• L.J. Smith followed up last week's strong fantasy outing of 49 yards and a score by catching four passes for 44 yards to post an adequate fantasy day for a tight end.
• Jesse Chatman totaled 76 yards by running for 72 yards and gaining four receiving yards on one reception. He averaged just 3.3 yards per carry.
• Rookie quarterback John Beck flopped in his first NFL start, completing just 9-of-22 passes for 109 yards. In his favor, he had zero turnovers, but it was at the expense of producing big plays.
• Ted Ginn Jr. led the Dolphins with four receptions for 52 yards and scored Miami's only touchdown when he returned a punt for 87 yards in the second quarter. The rookie is worth claiming to start as a Nos. 3 or 4 wideout as he appears to be Beck's top target.
Tampa Bay 31, Atlanta 7
• Earnest Graham ran for his second straight 100-yard game and scored in his second consecutive contest. He's now totaled at least 100 yards in three of the last four games. As expected, the return of Michael Pittman didn't negatively affect Graham's fantasy value. Graham totaled 108 yards by rushing for 102 yards and gaining six yards on one reception. He also has scored five touchdowns this season.
• While Graham received 17 carries, Pittman was given 10 handoffs. Graham averaged a robust 6.0 yards, and Pittman posted a respectable 4.4 yards by rushing for 44 yards. Pittman also caught two passes for 17 yards. Pittman returned from a four-game injury absence with an ankle injury.
• Joey Galloway scored in his third straight game on a 44-yard catch and has totaled six touchdowns this season, just one short of last year's mark of seven. He finished with 63 receiving yards on two receptions.
• Ike Hilliard disappointed by catching just one pass for 14 yards, but tight end Alex Smith
• After totaling at least 100 yards in the past two games, Warrick Dunn flopped by running for just 32 yards. He averaged only 2.1 yards on 15 handoffs. However, he salvaged his poor fantasy day in reception leagues by catching eight passes for 40 yards.
• Jerious Norwood was a fantasy non-factor once again, running for just four yards on two carries and catching only two passes for 10 yards. He should remain on waiver wires.
• Like Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich was a fantasy flop, throwing for just 106 yards with two interceptions. Harrington replaced him in the third quarter and was more effective, completing 16-of-20 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown with zero interceptions.
• Second-year wideout Adam Jennings caught his first NFL touchdown on a 7-yard reception from Harrington. He finished with 11 yards on two receptions.
• Roddy White flopped by gaining only 28 yards on four receptions, while teammate Michael Jenkins posted a solid fantasy day by catching nine passes for 73 yards.
• Alge Crumpler flopped by gaining just 28 yards on three receptions. He should be released onto the waiver wire if he isn't already residing on the waiver wire.
