2 3 A. Pujols 1B STL Hitting a cool .372 in August, along with 7 HR and 20 RBI, very strong
3 1 J. Hamilton OF TEX Has easily been his worst month, but still one with 4 HR and 12 RBI
4     C. Utley 2B PHI Had cooled off until a recent 11-for-26 run (.423), up to 31 HR now
5 10 C. Quentin OF CWS Having yet another huge month, hitting every category huge, even 7 SB
6 7 T. Lincecum SP SF First player to 200 Ks, now 14-3 on season, ridiculous 1.29 ERA in Aug.
7 8 Cliff Lee SP CLE Allowed 2 or less ER in 13 of last 15 starts, stands at incredible 19-2
8 13 D. Wright 3B NYM He's hitting every category, just like he always does, just hit 100th RBI
9 15 R. Howard 1B PHI AVG is garbage, but you can't argue with 35 HR and 110 RBI
10 6 M. Ramirez OF LAD No HR or RBI in last 8 games, that's just unacceptable for him
11 9 B. Webb SP ARI Had awful outing in last start, but had won 6 in a row prior to that, 19-5
12 16 CC Sabathia SP MIL Won 9 of last 10 and 13 of last 15, terrific 1.37 ERA in August, 197 Ks
13 12 G. Sizemore OF CLE AVG is terrible this month, but he DID just join the 30-30 Club
14 5 A. Rodriguez 3B NYY Was climbing up the list fast until this month came, now dropping again
15 11 H. Ramirez SS FLA The numbers have been average at best this month, AVG sits at .297
16 17 R. Halladay SP TOR He's 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA in August, with 34 Ks in 36 IP, 175 Ks overall
17 21 J. Santana SP NYM Has won 4 straight and hasn't allowed a run in last 16 IP, throwing well
18 24 A. Soriano OF CHC Back-to-back 3-hit games, even stealing bases again, has 6 this month
19     L. Berkman 1B HOU Hit safely in 18 of last 21 games, but done so quietly, scored 100th run
20 14 R. Braun OF MIL Sat out a week recently, his month had been down to begin with
21 33 R. Harden SP CHC Dominant as any pitcher in last 8 starts, 8 or more Ks in 7 of those
22 35 D. Pedroia 2B BOS Few have been better in Aug, grand slam this gave him 6 HR, 20 RBI
23 18 J. Reyes SS NYM Powers numbers are lower than normal (13 HR), but SB and Runs big
24 26 R. Ludwick OF STL Can anybody stop this guy? Hitting .359 with 9 HR & 23 RBI in August
25 40 M. Mora 3B BAL Best player in baseball this month: .427, 8 HR, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored
26 27 A. Huff OF BAL Hitting .327 this month, including 11 for last 23 (.479), 7 HR and 22 RBI
27 30 Jason Bay OF BOS Continues to crush it, hitting .347 with 24 RBI and 22 Runs in August
28 36 K. Youkilis 1B BOS Has been an absolute beast lately, hitting .356 with 21 RBI in August
29 20 E. Volquez SP CIN Not as great as the first half, but still strong over at 15-5 and 2.80 ERA
30 28 F. Rodriguez RP LAA Just hit his 50th save, that record of 57 is goin down and goin down hard
31 23 C. Jones 3B ATL Only 1 HR in last 29 games, production going down quickly
32 29 D. Matsuzaka SP BOS It really is amazing, the Sox have won 19 of the 23 games he's pitched
33 32 Xavier Nady OF NYY Still doing it all for Yanks, in the midst of an 8-game hit streak as well
34 37 N. Markakis OF BAL Has 22 RBI, 21 runs and a .340 AVG in August, finally coming around
35 25 J. Dye OF CWS 6 HR and 15 RBI this month is strong, but AVG (.236) has dropped big
36 48 M. Teixeira 1B LAA Has been killin the ball in Anaheim, going for .373 with 20 RBI in August
37 NR A. Ramirez 3B CHC He's officially back on the list, thanks to big month: .329, 5 HR, 22 RBI
38 44 R. Dempster SP CHC Nobody thought he'd be this good this long, but just keeps winning
39 46 M. Cabrera 3B DET The 9 HR and 21 RBI this month have been great, .267 not so much
40 41 M. Rivera RP NYY Perfect week, with 3.2 IP, 3 saves, 3 K and no hits allowed, at 31 saves
41 39 J. Nathan RP MIN Didn't get much work last week, meaning his sick numbers stay sick
42 22 A. Gonzalez 1B SD His 3 HR, 10 RBI and .279 AVG won't be moving him up the list at all
43 47 G. Soto C CHC Just hit 20th HR to go with a .328 August AVG and 20 RBI, hitting well
44 NR David Ortiz DH BOS Finally back stroking again, hitting .333 with 3 HR and 12 RBI in last 14
45 NR Carlos Pena 1B TB 2nd-most HR in MLB since the All-Star break, now at 26 and 78 RBI
46 53 J. Morneau 1B MIN Hitting .364 with 2 HR and 9 RBI the last couple weeks, so consistent
47 45 B. Sheets SP MIL Only pitched 7 innings once in last 6 starts, decent ERA, but little else
48 47 J. Peavy SP SD 2.84 ERA, 9-9 record, but hasn't pitched more than 7 IP since April
49 31 D. Haren SP ARI Certainly hasn't looked like himself recently, 5.29 ERA this month
50     J. Papelbon RP BOS All the numbers are insanely good, but just 4 saves in over a month

53 52 B. Lidge RP PHI No ER and only 4 hits in last 3 weeks, up to 31 saves with 1.99 ERA
54     B. Hawpe OF COL Hitting .344 with 5 HR and 23 RBI this month, just 1 RBI in last 6 though
55     Ichiro OF SEA Just 3-for-19 after a recent unbelievable hot streak, he'll start up again
56     E. Santana SP LAA Throwing really well lately, and the Ks have been there as well
57 NR P. Fielder 1B MIL .273 AVG isn't stellar, but the 28 HR and 80 RBI are steadily improving
58 NR V. Guerrero OF LAA Hasn't been terrific, but still on pace for 30 HR, 100 RBI, 100 runs
59 51 M. Mussina SP NYY Given up 10 ER in last 19 IP, yet won all 3 of those games, and 6 of 7
60 34 Duchscherer SP OAK He'd begun to tail off slightly before injuring himself, will be out 2 weeks

-- 60 Joakim Soria RP KC Only 1 save in last 3 weeks, and has been getting hit more regularly
