US reaches gold medal game

INNSBRUCK, Austria (AP)
The United States advanced to the gold medal game with a 17-7 win over Mexico on Tuesday at the IFAF Senior World Championship.
Da'Shawn Thomas had a pair of short touchdown runs for the U.S. QB Cody Hawkins finished 21 of 35 for 267 yards. Running back Nate Kmic had six catches for 53 yards. Tight end Mike Peterson added four receptions for 38 yards. Charles Bay and Maurice Banks each had sacks for the U.S.
Jose Conn Reyes had a TD run for Mexico.
The U.S. men finished Group A play with a 3-0 record and will take on the winner of Japan and Canada in the title match.
Those countries play Wednesday in a Group B finale between 2-0 teams.
