Bastian commits future to Bayern

Schweinsteiger's future has been the subject of speculation with a number of Europe's top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United, credited with an interest in acquiring his services.
The German international was in the final 18 months of his contract, but he has now penned a new deal to keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2016.
Schweinsteiger announced on a microphone after the 3-0 defeat of St Pauli to the home fans at the Allianz Arena that he had pledged his long-term future to the German giants.
"I have extended my contract and will stay at FC Bayern until 2016," said Schweinsteiger. "Long live Bayern!"
Schweinsteiger joins Philipp Lahm, Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller in signing a new deal at Bayern.
