The Champions League draw for the knockout round has set up some incredible matches, none bigger than Manchester United’s showdown with Real Madrid. But what are the other bigger games – and more important – who can advance to the quarterfinals?

The marquee matchup of the round, with Cristiano Ronaldo facing off against his old employer. Both teams and managers have tons of respect for one another, but you’d fancy United at this time over the Spanish giants. United, who will rely on star striker Robin van Persie (pictured), have been dogged in England and lead the table while the reigning Spanish champs are mired in a slump. But expect Real to go all out to win this competition; United will have to harbor some resources to win the English crown. PICK: Real Madrid

Celtic’s manager Neil Lennon called this a "beauty of a match" but we see it as an epic mismatch. Celtic are the darlings of the tournament after their brave performances against Barcelona, but Juventus’ wide play and midfielders like Andrea Pirlo (pictured, right) are sure to give the Scots trouble. Parkhead will be a cauldron for the home leg, but passion can only take a limited team so far. PICK: Juventus

An intriguing game between two unheralded sides. The Turks have prospered thanks to Burak Yilmaz (pictured, left), the joint top-scorer in the group stages alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Schalke, and American Jermaine Jones, have been ruthlessly efficient, feeding Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (pictured, right) up top and collecting wins. This pairing is a toss-up, but given the strength of the Bundesliga this season, we’re giving the nod to the Germans. PICK: Schalke

The impoverished vs. the moneybags. Valencia have a lot of experience in this tournament but have had to sell many of their best players just to pay the bills, so much will rest on the shoulders of Roberto Soldado (pictured, left). PSG haven’t been here since the turn of this century, and with loads of gas money behind them, are looking to make noise. It’s hard not to favor Javier Pastore and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (pictured, right) here, but will the Parisians’ lack of experience haunt them? PICK: PSG

Both of these teams know each other very well, but this is a matchup the Italians will not have wished for. Barcelona, of course, knocked AC Milan out of last year’s show in a grueling four-match encounter; this year the Catalans look a lot slicker and less vulnerable to the clogging play Milan likes to field. There is one question hanging over Barcelona - how will they deal with out coach Tito Vilanova? We're sure Lionel Messi (pictured, right) and co will provide the answer despite AC Milan having one of the in-form strikers on the planet - Stephan El Shaarawy. (pictured, left) Pick: Barcelona

This is a tough matchup for the Spaniards, who face a sharp attacking side loaded with experience and talent. Malaga’s Isco has been one of the standouts of the tournament thus far, with Eliseu (pictured, right) and Joaquin playing off him to fine effect. But Porto’s Jackson Martinez, James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho (pictured, left) have been very difficult to contain and Lucho Gonzalez is having a superior year. PICK: Porto

A matchup Arsene Wenger surely did not want. Last year’s finalists have been cruising in the Bundesliga this year, a marked contrast to the Gunners’ sagging performances in England. Both teams play a possession game, but one team – Bayern – has proven scorers, with Mario Gomez, Thomas Muller (pictured, right) and Toni Kroos reliable men up top. With Arsenal’s defense a mess, and Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben bearing down on them, it’s clear which side to pick. Santi Cazorla (pictured, left) could prove crucial to the Gunners' hopes. A thriller in the making. Dortmund and Shakhtar have played some of the most exciting, open soccer of the entire tournament. The Ukrainians boast Willan (pictured, left), Douglas Costa and Luiz Adriano; Dormund counter with Kuba, Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski (pictured, right) . This should be a firefight.
