Beckham backs Redknapp for England job
David Beckham believes Harry Redknapp would be a worthy choice to take over as England manager.
AROUND THE WORLD ...
Tottenham manager Redknapp has been installed as hot favourite to succeed Fabio Capello after the Italian stepped down last week over the John Terry captaincy affair.
LA Galaxy midfielder and former England captain Beckham, who trained with Spurs during the Major League Soccer off-season, believes the 64-year-old would be the perfect fit.
"Harry is a great man, a great manager. His man-management is incredible," said the ex-Manchester United ace.
"I've known players that have played under him, I've trained under him and he's not just a great manager but a great person as well."
Capello chose to resign after the Football Association stripped Terry of the England armband without consulting the Italian manager.
The Chelsea defender, who was poised to lead England at this summer's European Championship, will stand trial in the summer for allegedly racially abusing QPR stopper Anton Ferdinand, a charge Terry denies.

Asked whether the captaincy should be decided by the coach or the FA, Beckham gave his backing to the manager.
"Coach's call," he replied. "That's always the case.
"Obviously the decision was taken to take the captaincy away from John but going forward I'm sure the captain will be picked by whatever manager steps in."
