UEFA has fined the German soccer association $12,550 because fans threw paper missiles at Portugal players during a European Championship match.
Portugal players were pelted with dozens of grapefruit-sized paper balls during the first half of Germany's 1-0 win last Saturday in Lviv, Ukraine.
UEFA rules make national associations responsible for their fans' behavior inside stadiums.
UEFA also fined the Portuguese federation $6,275 because the team was late for the second half.
