Beckham's PSG debut put on hold
David Beckham may have to wait to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut, after Carlo Ancelotti claimed he isn't yet ready for first-team action.
The former England captain's high-profile move to the French capital was completed on transfer deadline day, and made the headlines as he announced he will donate all his wages to charity.
Despite critics calling the move a publicity stunt, Beckham is keen to focus on his football, and completed his first training session with his new team-mates on Wednesday.
Ancelotti was happy to see him join up with the squad, but reiterated he is not quite ready to make his first-team debut.
"He needs two weeks of preparation," Ancelotti said. He could be ready for the match against Sochaux (17 February), or may be the next match."
The clash with Marseille seems the most likely, where the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star could come up against Joey Barton.
Beckham has not played since his last appearance for the Los Angeles Galaxy on Dec. 1 and is working his way back into shape.
