Redknapp dismisses Sneijder link
Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder has been offered by an agent to relegation-haunted QPR, according to their manager Harry Redknapp.
The 28-year-old Holland international has been linked with a host of Barclays Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool, as the Italian giants look to get him off their wage bill.
Redknapp told The Sun: "I was asked by one agent if I wanted to sign Sneijder. Of course I do. However, he's on about £200,000 a week and now he wants to join QPR? I won't name the agent, but let's just say I think a deal is unlikely."
Ex-players have come to the defense of the Dutch midfielder, as former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert offered his support to his and close friend Sneijder. Sneijder is in the middle of a contract dispute with Inter, which wants the playmaker to take a pay cut.
Kluivert says he has spoken to Sneijder and ''he doesn't feel happy. He has to play, also for the national team. Inter is in his heart ... but let's hope he rescinds his contract so he can play.''
Sneijder hasn't played for Inter since September. First he was sidelined for two months with another injury, but then Inter technical director Marco Branca said last month that Sneijder wouldn't play again until he made a decision about his future, with a new deal reportedly requiring him to take a pay cut.
