Robinho wants Brazil return
AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri concedes Robinho wants to leave the Serie A club and could return to Brazil in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old striker has been the subject of a several approaches from Santos over recent weeks, with the player expressing his desire to call time on his two-and-a-half-year spell with Milan and return to the club where he started his career.
Allegri had previously been reticent to confirm reports of Robinho's state of unrest at the San Siro, but following the 4-1 victory over Pescara, he came clean.
"I can't do anything more than let him play," the Rossoneri coach told the Corriere dello Sport. "Everything else is between him and the club. He's been away from Brazil for eight years and wants to go back, but if he stays I hope he will take our cause very seriously. We have a good base of strikers here in order to fight for the top three places and we are not too far away, but the race will be long. We will mix youngsters with experiences players so that Milan can compete on all fronts."
Robinho joined Milan from Manchester City for 18million euros in 2010, playing a key role in the side that won the Scudetto in 2011 before Juventus dethroned the Rossoneri last May.
The Brazilian has found his opportunities limited this season, though, as Milan bid to rectify a dismal start to the season and force their way back into European contention.
