PSG said on its website on Saturday that Broad died from the injuries he sustained on Thursday. Reports said he was hit by an oncoming vehicle while sitting in his stationary car as he waited for assistance on the side of a motorway after running out of fuel.
Broad was the club's performance director, advising players over dietary techniques as well as monitoring their physical parameters.
''We are all devastated by the painful news of the brutal death of a man renowned for his competence and well-liked by everyone,'' PSG said in a statement. ''Nick was a brilliant man with great qualities and a sincere friend.''
He was a friend of PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti and worked as head of Chelsea's science department when the Italian coached Chelsea from 2009-11.
''Sometimes life is unfair. RIP my Friend. Always have a thought for you,'' former PSG striker Guillaume Hoarau tweeted.
He joined PSG in January last year and previously worked as a dietician for Blackburn and Birmingham.
''Just heard the news about nick broad shocking news worked with him at blackburn rovers. Heart goes out to his family,'' former Blackburn and Manchester United striker Andrew Cole tweeted.
Sunday's match away to Bordeaux will go ahead as planned despite PSG asking the French league to postpone it.
''I learned with great sadness about the death of Nick Broad. I share the pain of PSG, which wanted to postpone the match against Bordeaux, but this was impossible to do 48 hours before the game,'' LFP president Frederic Thiriez said in a statement. ''To pay homage to him, and to share the pain of the club and his loved ones, a minute's silence will be observed tomorrow night.''
