Relive the all-time greatest moments from Americans overseas.

United States forward Jozy Altidore paid tribute Friday to the 26 victims of the school shooting in Connecticut by wearing their names on his cleats during a game for the Dutch team AZ Alkmaar.

Altidore scrawled the names in black ink across his yellow cleats, plus wore a black band across one of his arms to represent mourning. The 20 students and six teachers at a school in Newtown, Conn. were killed Dec. 14.

Altidore said he made the gesture ''to show I'm thinking of everyone in Newtown and back home.''

He plans on other tributes in the weeks ahead, and has reached out to local soccer clubs and community leaders to offer assist and support. He says he and his foundation will ''help the community in any way we can on its road to recovery.''
