Radamel Falcao, or to many, just Falcao, is widely considered one of the top strikers in the world. His dominance in international play has earned him the nicknames "El Tigre" and the "King of the Europa League." The veteran, now with Atletico Madrid, had spent the majority of his career racking up wins and goals with Latin American giant River Plate of Buenos Aires. Falcao's career at 'El Monumento" was plagued with knee injuries, but that didn't keep him from establishing himself as one of the top players in South America.

When healthy, Falcao was a goal scoring machine for River Plate, as was named to the "XI of America," a prestigious list of the best South American players of the year.

In 2009 Falcao made his way to Europe and joined FC Porto. He made an immediate impact, finishing 2nd the Portugese league in scoring, and helping his club advance to the Champions League round of eight. In 2010-2011, FC Porto and Falcao won the Portugese League as well as the Europa Cup, in which Falcao set a Europa League record with 17 goals in 14 games.

Falcao won his 2nd consecutive Europa League crown with his current club Athletico Madrid in 2011-2012, thus earning himself the nickneame "King of the Europa League."

While at River Plate, Falcao celebrated the clubs 33ed Argentine First Division Championship by holding up his country's national flag in Buenos Aires.
