Atletico routs nine-man Sevilla

Atletico Madrid extended its best ever league Sunday as Diego Simeone's side rolled over nine-man Sevilla 4-0 to provisionally draw even with Barcelona at the top of the Spanish league standings.
Radamel Falcao got Atletico going from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after Federico Fazio was red carded for fouling Jorge ''Koke'' Resurrecion in the area.
Atletico was up 3-0 by halftime after an own goal by Sevilla's Emir Spahic in the 40th and Koke's strike in the 43rd.
Sevilla's Ivan Rakitic was sent off in the 82nd before Miranda capped Atletico's win in added time.
Atletico has won 11 of 13 games and visits third-place Real Madrid next with an eight-point lead over its crosstown rival.
Barcelona can reclaim sole possession of the league lead at Levante later.
