Sporting Gijon have appointed former Spain boss Javier Clemente as their coach until the end of the season.
Clemente takes over from Inaki Tejada, who was placed in temporary charge of the relegation-threatened Primera Division side following the departure of Manuel Preciado.
A brief statement on the Sporting website on Monday night read: "Javier Clemente is the new coach of Sporting until June 30. He will be presented on Tuesday."
Clemente was in charge of Spain between 1992 and 1998, but his last role was as coach of Cameroon.
Sporting lie second bottom of the table, six points from safety, and lost 4-0 at Valencia in their last game.
