Defending champion Tigres moved into first place in the Mexican Clausura championship with a 2-0 victory over San Luis.

Tigres' victory coupled with a 3-1 loss over the weekend for Santos Laguna against Morelia leaves both clubs with 13 points after six rounds. Tigres have a better goal difference.

Pachuca has 12 points and remains unbeaten after a 2-0 victory over Estudiantes. Cruz Azul remained the only other unbeaten club after a 0-0 draw on Sunday against Club Tijuana. Cruz has 10 points.

In other matches this weekend, Chivas continued their poor start with a 2-0 loss against Monterrey, Atlas and America drew 1-1, Toluca defeated Atlante 2-0, Pumas lost 2-0 against Puebla and Jaguares won 3-0 against Queretaro.

Israel Jimenez scored the first goal for Tigres in the 34th minute after being put through on goal from a back-heeled pass from Elias Hernandez. Argentine Lucas Lobos volleyed in the second in the 57th.

In Morelia's victory, Miguel Sabah gave his team the lead in the 23rd and added his second two minutes later. An own goal by Adrian Aldrete pulled one back for Santos Laguna in the 29th, but Gerardo Lugo completed Morelia's scoring in the last minute of the game.

Pachuca's Daniel Arreola scored with a low free kick from the edge of the penalty area in the 30th, with Argentine Mauro Cejas adding the second. Rubens Sambueza was sent off for Estudiantes Tecos in second-half injury time.

Club Tijuana enjoyed more possession against Cruz Azul, but neither team could break through. Egidio Arevalo had a chance to give Club Tijuana the points in the last minute, but he shot over the crossbar from inside the penalty area.

Aldo de Nigris got Monterrey's first in the 71st, and Angel Reyna curled in a shot into the top corner of the net in the 77th. Chivas, one of the favorites before the tournament began, have one point from six games and have only scored two goals.

Hugo Rodriguez gave Atlas the lead with a short-range header in the 34th, but America equalized five minutes later through Paul Aguilar.

Two goals from Chilean striker Ivan Alonso gave Toluca the victory against Atlante.

Luis Angel Landin opened the scoring for Puebla in the sixth minute. Marco Antonio Palacios was been sent off for Pumas in the 64th after receiving his second yellow card following a late tackle, and Spaniard Luis Garcia took advantage by scoring for Puebla in the 68th.

Colombian Jackson Martinez got his first in the ninth minute and his second in the 89th for Jaguares. Fellow Colombian Franco Arizala added the team's second in the 84th. German Alemanno had been sent off for Queretaro in the 59th.
