FRISCO, Texas (AP)

FC Dallas has signed 21-year-old defender Carlos Rodriguez of Panama.

The club said Friday the deal is pending receipt of his visa and other paperwork. Terms weren't disclosed.

Rodriguez played against FC Dallas with Tauro FC in the CONCACAF Champions League, picking up one assist in two games.

He has played two friendlies with Panama's national team and is on the roster for a Jan. 25 game against the United States in Panama City.

FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman says Rodriguez will bring balance and depth to the defense.
