SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP)

San Jose Earthquakes coach Frank Yallop and general manager of soccer operations John Doyle have received multiyear contract extensions.

The team announced the deals Friday. Both Yallop and Doyle have been with the Earthquakes since the franchise returned to Major League Soccer in 2008. They guided San Jose to within one game of reaching the MLS Cup Final last year.

After earning the final playoff spot a year ago, the Earthquakes upset New York in the first round before losing the conference final to eventual champion Colorado.
