Premier League Tiebreakers

If two or more teams have equal points the following tiebreakers shall be employed:

Play-off at neutral venue (champion or relegation places only).

* If the FA Cup winner has also qualified for the Champions League, then the UEFA Cup spot goes to FA Cup runner-up. If that team has also qualified for the Champions League the UEFA Cup spot goes to the next highest placed Premier League team.

As winners of the Carling Cup, Tottenham gets an automatic UEFA Cup spot in 2008. In the unlikely event that Tottenham also qualifies for the Champions League by finishing 4th in the league, then their UEFA Cup spot goes to the next highest placed Premier League team.
