Dempsey eyeing Chelsea scalp
Clint Dempsey feels Tottenham are well placed to end Chelsea's unbeaten start to the new season.
The European champions have been in good form under Roberto Di Matteo, while Spurs have been building up momentum even though Andre Villas-Boas only took over the White Hart Lane hot-seat in the summer.
Dempsey insists that Saturday's game could have a major bearing on their season.
"It is going to be an important game because the table is so tight," he told Sky Sports News HD.
"You have to take care of your home games and try to get as many results as you can.
"We want to continue this run of positive results, so we know it is going to be a tough test but we are all excited, and we have everyone back from fitness now and we are looking to make the most of this game."
Dempsey is pleased with his own form since his deadline-day move from Fulham to Tottenham, but he wants more goals having scored just once for his new club.
"I feel like I am settling in," he continued.
"I have played in seven games, and six starts - with a goal and assist in the league and I would like better numbers than that but at the same time I am feeling good and playing consistently, I am playing well but I just want more goals and assists as it feels I am contributing more."
