Parker undergoes Achilles operation
Tottenham have confirmed that Scott Parker has undergone surgery to his right Achilles and will be out until mid-September.
The club have confirmed that the 31-year-old midfielder will return to training after the international break and will miss the friendly against Italy as well as the World Cup qualifiers with Moldova on September 7 and Ukraine four days later.
Parker missed Tottenham's final four Premier League matches with an Achilles injury but still played for his country at last summer's European Championship.
Parker started all four of England's match at the tournament but it is thought he picked up an Achilles injury while representing his country.
The former Charlton, Chelsea and Newcastle midfielder was a key man for Spurs in the middle of the park last season making 34 appearances for the White Hart Lane club after moving from London rivals West Ham the previous summer.
Tottenham say the surgery has gone well but is unlikely to play for at least six weeks.
A statement on the club website read: "Scott Parker has undergone successful surgery to his right Achilles.
"The midfielder is expected to return to training after the international break in September."
