Cold leads to early kickoff for 6 league matches

PARIS (AP)
Six French league matches will start early in the afternoon this weekend as a cold snap hitting France is damaging pitches and creating scheduling problems.
Five games, including Lyon vs. Caen and Evian vs. Marseille, will start Saturday at 1400 GMT instead of 1800 GMT, the French league said Tuesday.
On Sunday, Lille will also kick off at 1400 GMT against Bordeaux.
Frozen pitches led to the postponement of three French league matches last weekend.
The French Football Federation also decided to move the kickoff for Wednesday's French Cup tie between Lyon and Bordeaux to 1515 GMT instead of 1950 GMT.
